Sri Lanka batting has been decent and win the match convincingly with more than 2 overs to spare against Oman, who had a decent squad to compete against a formidable Sri Lankan squad. Dinesh Chandimal and Pathum Nissanka started off well as the former started off brilliantly with a four and a six in the first over of the chase. Chandimal got dismissed immediately and Charith Asalanka also followed him quickly inside the powerplay. After losing two wickets inside the powerplay, Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando put on a quick fire partnership between them as Fernando scored 33 runs in just 18 balls with 3 big hits over the ropes. Pathum Nissanka and Dasun Shanaka also got dismissed in quick succession and looked like Sri Lanka got into trouble as Oman got on top of them at that stage. Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Chamika Karunaratne then put on a partnership starting off quitely with singles and doubles. Once both got their eye in, started to take on the bowlers and brought the required rate down significantly making it easy for themselves. They managed to chase down the target without losing any more wickets and crossed the line with 15 balls to spare.
Oman bowlers will be disappointed with the result as they had put on a decent total on the board and might have been confident of restricting the opposition under 159. They had a decent start by picking two early wickets inside the powerplay but couldn't continue to put the pressure in the middle overs as Sri Lankan batters went after their spinners. Though it looked like they might have a chance once they picked 5 wickets with more than 70 runs to chase, they failed to break the 6th wicket partnership that turned the match in Sri Lanka's favour. Their fielding effort was also below par as they gave away easy runs and lacked energy to sustain pressure on the field. Though they lost the series now, it will definitely be a good experience going into the all important T20 World Cup starting in few days. They might got to understand few situations better and use them wisely when they take the field in the Big Dance.
Chamika Karunaratne, fittingly, finishes the match for his team and played an excellent knock to take the team home along with his partner, Bhanuka Rakapaksa. Sri Lanka win the match by 5 wickets and 15 balls to spare. Sri Lanka win the series 2-0 in the 2 match series here in Oman.
17.3 Kaleemullah to Chamika Karunaratne, SIX! CHAMIKA GOES FOR THE GLORIOUS AND FINISHES THE MATCH! Slower, overpitched ball delivered in the slot on middle and legstump. Chamika sits on one knee, opens up the legside area and brooms the ball uppishly over the jumping deep backward square leg fielder for a MAXIMUM to kill the chase. Sri Lanka clean sweep Oman before the T20 World Cup.
17.2 Kaleemullah to Bhanuka Rajapaksa, fuller length ball bowled wide outside off near the tramlines. Bhanuka throws the bat at this one and dabbles the ball along the ground to the sweeper at midwicket for a single
17.1 Kaleemullah to Bhanuka Rajapaksa, fuller length ball pushed across from the batter. Bhanuka charges down the track and toe ends the ball to long off for a brace to inch closer to victory
Kaleemullah, right arm medium, to bowl the next over.
What a shot to finish the over and that brings the required runs to single digits. Sri Lanka now need 6 runs and should cross the line in the next over. These two have really played sensibly for the team in chasing down this total without much risk.

16.6 Mohammad Nadeem to Chamika Karunaratne, SIX! SAILS OVER! Short of good length ball dug into the track wide outside off. Chamika takes full toll of the width presented to him and smokes the ball with absolute disdain over the long off fence for a flat MAXIMUM. 6 required in 18 deliveries now!
16.5 Mohammad Nadeem to Bhanuka Rajapaksa, length ball on pads. Bhanuka camped on the backfoot wrists the ball gently to deep midwicket and trundles across for a single
