POST-MATCH PRESENTATION
Sarfaraz Ahmed, Quetta Gladiators captain: Our finish with the bat was not good and our bowling in the middle was also not up to the mark. Naseem bowled well, Faulkner brought us back into the match but we were 25 runs or so light with the bat.
Shoaib Malik, Peshawar Zalmi captain: We didn't start well and there are areas we need to improve but I have to back our bowling unit. We have to improve our fielding for sure. Winning is something that gives a lot of confidence but in a long tournament, fielding too plays an important role, especially in big boundaries, so we have to get better there. Naseem Shah was brilliant I guess from Quetta. I'm still enjoying my cricket and hope to continue as long as I achieve my goals.
Player of the Match, Will Smeed: It was great to be out there and great to get the opportunity to get games. It felt nice with the new ball coming on but I think I struggled against the spinners, so have to improve. I hope to keep getting better on these pitches.
Erin Holland catches up with Sherfane Rutherford: Thanks the god for the opportunity. It was indeed a big total, the guys were positive, in our meeting we spoke about being positive and we gave our 100%, the result is going to take care of itself. At the toss, we thought it would be 120 - 130 wicket but Gladiators batted well, got to give the credit to them but our team came out well in the end. The guys are hungry, everyone want be out there and put in performances. It's good to be here, good to be among cricket and it's also good to be in Pakistan with all the doubts around, something good for me and the fans out there.

It was a fantastic run chase by Peshawar Zalmi after a poor effort with the ball and in the field in the 1st innings! Shoaib Malik was the key with the bat for Peshawar as his knock held the innings together and took them over the line.
Hussain Talat was extremely good with his fifty as his innings provided the necessary impetus to the Peshawar innings in the middle overs.
To begin the 2nd innings batting, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Yasir Ali too provided the perfect start to the Peshawar side's chase as the required run-rate was very much met with from the word go.
Naseem Shah, Mohammad Nawaz and James Faulkner were good but not good enough in the end. Faulkner's last over went for plenty as it turned the match Quetta's way.
So a nice win in the end for Peshawar sees them register their first points on the board.
Peshawar Zalmi manage to get over the line, winning by 5 wickets with 2 balls to spare!
19.4 Naseem Shah to Shoaib Malik, THAT'S IT! Peshawar Zalmi are home and they chased down the big total in the end quite comfortably. Full delivery on the leg-stump from around the wicket, Malik clips it into the on-side, cross over for a single.
19.3 Naseem Shah to Shoaib Malik, short on the off-stump, Malik on the backfoot pulls that one in the gap past mid-wicket and they hare back comfortably for a brace. SCORES ARE LEVEL!
19.2 Naseem Shah to Shoaib Malik, DOT BALL! Back of a length on the outside off, Malik on the backfoot goes to cut that one and gets beaten. Is there a twist in the tale here?
Ben Cutting, RHB, is at the crease.
19.1 Naseem Shah to Sherfane Rutherford, OUT! PICKS OUT LONG-ON AND GONE! Back of a length on the off-stump, Rutherford wanted to finish things off but he hoicks that one straight down the throat of long-on and has to go!
Sherfane Rutherford c Nawaz b Naseem Shah 10 (9) (2x4)
19.1 Naseem Shah to Sherfane Rutherford, WIDE! Short delivery, bangs it in but strays it down the leg-side, Rutherford ducks under and Naseem has to reload!
