It's only early days in the tournament but RCB really need to work on their death bowling. They have been smacked by the lower-middle order of two different sides on two different surfaces now. LSG on the other hand, will be happy with these away wins. Their form at home has been tremendous and they are off to a really strong start to the competion.

Right then. That draws the curtains on the run feast between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. 425 runs and 40 overs later, it was the Super Giants that came out on top in the final delivery of the match.

Nicholas Pooran (Player of the Match): I want to dedicate this award to my wife and to my new born. We needed to win this one. The partnership between Stoinis and KL was wonderful and Marcus kept us in the tie. It was a lovely wicket to bat on and we knew batting becomes easier towards the back end. It was all about getting the execution right. If it's in the slot, then I am not sparing it. I was in a very nice position after smacking my second ball for a six. I have worked very hard on my game and this is where I wish to be. I want to finish games for my side and today also I got out before finishing the game. I am in a good place at the moment and I hope this is my season. My aim is to enjoy the game, play with a smile and win games for my side.

KL Rahul (LSG captain): Unbelievable game. It's Chinnaswamy, I have grown up here and I know this venue produces more last ball finishes than any other. To win this from where we were in the beginning, is phenomenal. The ball was swinging early on and Mayers and myself were struggling a bit. Stoinis and Pooran were incredible today and we are going home with two points today because of them. Yes, I am not happy with my current form and I want to get more runs under my belt. I went slower today because we lost three early wickets. We could have won this much more comfortably if I could stay till the end. Badoni did a fine job towards the end, he has been a valuable asset for us.

Marcus Stoinis: It was a beautiful pitch. I knew had to be attacking but it was also an important stage in the innings. (Not bowling enough) We need to speak to the IPL about the rule change with the impact player. It's taken me out of the equation with the ball. It's a good rule for some, but not so much for others. It was nice to contribute to the team. We're a young franchise and we haven't won away from home yet. It means a lot for us to be here and contribute to the team with this being a new franchise. So yeah, contributing feels nice. I think we bowled really well in the powerplay but some of those shots from Virat and Faf you don't see every day. Spinners bowled really well in the middle. History suggests 200 is about par, so the plan was to get off to a good start and take it from there.

Faf du Plessis (RCB captain) Disappointed. Obviously they played very well in the middle. Last over, 1 off 1 ball, I fancied my chances of a runout there. Just looking at the wicket, when we were batting, it was quite slow from over 7-14. As the innings went on, then the ball started skidding on a bit better with the moisture on the surface. That was the case through the second innings. They had some really good power-hitting with Stoinis and Pooran. I threw all our weapons at them. Unfortunately, they took on our best bowler in Harshal Patel but he came back beautifully. From where they were, it was a good fight from us. You have to be really on top of your game with the ball to come out on top. (His knock) I was actually struggling for most of my innings. I was happy to give the strike to Virat because he was in such good form in the first six overs. It wasn't until the 12th over till I thought I found some rhythm. You get some innings where you have to work through it.

No target is ever safe at the Chinnaswamy and today Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran have proved it yet again. The Super Giants were off to a horror start as the top order collapsed in the first four overs. They did not have enough runs on the board and Siraj and Parnell caused havoc with the new ball.

However, when Stoinis switched gears, LSG started dreaming again. He attacked Harshal and then went after the spinners. KL was just watching him go from the other end and handing over the strike. Stoinis departed after playing one shot too many against Karn. KL was forced to take on Siraj and he threw away his wicket after struggling to make any impact today. Pooran and Badoni were the new batters at the crease but they did not take any time to settle in. Badoni played the support role and also kept scoring at a decent rate and Pooran treated every delivery as a six-hitting opportunity.

Pooran was dismissed when 28 was needed off 24. Badoni and Unadkat dragged LSG towards the end and the equation was down to 5 off the final over. In a dramatic final over which saw a couple of wickets and run out misses, LSG came out on top after stealing a bye in the final ball.
