That brings us to the end of our coverage for this MLC encounter. Just one more match lef before we find out the second winner of the competition. Do join us then on Monday and many more sporting actions on Sportskeeda. Like always it was a pleasure bringing all the updates and commentary but for now this is me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator and good mate Rudransh Khurrana.
Corey Anderson (San Francisco Unicorns captain): Well I think if we look at the comp as a whole, different guys have stepped up on different occasions. Guys have come out and done their roles and won't the main moments in the game. Both of them know what they doing as they are class players. It's handy to hand those guys. Yeah Drysdale has been brilliant. Look that was one of those catches. Moments like you get in. Great job.
Faf du Plessis {Texas Super Kings captain): I think starting off we weren't at our best in the first forty-five minutes in the game. Both teams fielding was very average. If you give a chance or two to a guy like Allen this is what he can do. Not good enough skills I think on the catching. Yeah I mean you can the culture shining through Joshua Tromp. Hopefully an innings like this will keep him a lot of confidence. I thought the score was 15 above average. I felt 185 would have been a par score. We were wel in it as there was a period in the middle where we lost a few wickets. Tight game and some close calls towards the end. I have really enjoyed the MLC. Season two produced better cricket and quality. Great to have people in the stand.
Finn Allen is the MVP: It was a close one there. We knew we were going to be up against it with the TSK batting lineup. Excited for the final. Quality knock from Dev. He has had a great tournament, he keeps racking up runs. It was just the nature of the surface where it was hard to hit across the lines. I still tried it a few times! But got lucky. Against the spinners, I was just looking to hit straight. It's going to be a great game. It's 1-1, would be a great final.
Time for the presentation party!
San Francisco Unicorns won by 10 runs
Finn Allen 101(53) | Juanoy Drysdale 2/33(4) Devon Conway 62*(38) | Noor Ahmad 3/27(4)
It turned out to be a hard fought victory for the San Francisco Unicorns as they registered a 10 run victory against the Texas Super Kings. It was a sensational all-round effort from the Unicorns to get it done. Finn Allen scored a match-winning century despite not being at his prolific.
The San Francisco Unicorns were the happier among the two sides at the halfway stage but the Texas Super Kings turned things out dramatically in the powerplay on the back of a blistering knock from skipper Faf du Plessis. Conway struck a six off the second over before Faf took the onus on himself to do bulk of the scoring.
He smashed three boundaries of Carmi le Roux in the 4th over and followed it up with a four a six. Du Plessis threw his bat at everything and the ploy came off up until then. His knock of 45 came in a mere 22 deliveries which included seven fours and a six.
Carmi le Roux provided the breakthrough against the run of play and that opened the floodgates for the Unicorns. The carnage continued for the whole powerplay with Conway also joining in the fun. Du Plessis was eventually dismissed courtesy of a sensational one handed stunner from Corey Anderson at mid off.
Aaron Hardie was the next man in and along with Conway wrestled home the initiative with a string of delectable strokes. However post the powerplay, this started going pear shaped for the Super Kings. The string of dot deliveries forced Aaron Hardie to continue the onslought and he fell in the process. Hassan Khan then provided the early wicket of Milind Kumar.
Drysdale’s deam day turned into something special when he bagged the prized wicket of Marcus Stoinis. Conway batted better than the previous day and found the boundaries during the middle overs besides rotating the strike along. Out came Joshua Tromp and he made a big impact straightaway.
He upped the ante with a series of big shots which included a supreme lofted extra cover drive which comfortably cleared the fence. As the match reached its conclusion, the likes of Pat Cummins bowled brilliantly towards the end to restrict them to 190. Hassan Khan used the depth of the crease to get his breakthroughs
Juanoy Drysdale: Feels great. All of New York is watching. My family is here. It's a proud moment. The message was to stick to the basis and use my slower one. I liked the Stoinis wicket. To be honest, it's hard to see in the dark and the ball's wobbling which makes it difficult. We are going to pop champagne!

19.6 Pat Cummins to Joshua Tromp, gets the slash right but it doesn't matter! CUMMINS WINS IT FOR UNICORNS AND THEY'LL MEET FREEDOM FOR THE THIRD TIME -- THIS TIME IN THE FINAL! What a death overs display from these players. But Tromp and Conway deserve a pat on the back for taking it this deep too!
19.5 Pat Cummins to Joshua Tromp, DOT BALLLLL!! AND UNICORNS BREATHE A SIGH OF RELIEF! Nails the yorker outside off, Tromp tries to play his favorite slash over covers but misses it all together!
