So, that will be all from the group stage of the Major League Cricket, 2024! We will be back tomorrow with the Eliminator between Texas Super Kings and MI New York to see who advances further and who gets knocked out. This is the pair of Karthik Raj and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Faf du Plessis (Texas Super Kings): It was important for some of our guys to get opportunities. And it was good to see that they stepped up to the plate. What that also allowed today, was for some of the guys to get a good day's rest and come fresh tomorrow. We are now focused on getting things right for tomorrow, now that this game is done and out of the way.
Heinrich Klaasen (Seattle Orcas captain): It's difficult really! We tried lots of things to get things right, we came close on occasions, we gave it our all but could not quite get it done. The bowling group did not get enough support from the batting group. The senior players, including myself, did not really step up as much. And the chopping and changing constantly also isn't a good sign. We will have a recap in the next week and reassess for the next season.
Calvin Savage (Most Valuable Player of the Match): That was a lot of fun. Put in a lot of hard work and glad it is coming to fruition. Nice to come into form at the right time. Used to over-think a lot. Just trying to be positive and that is helping me. Having to play out of the Powerplay helps a bit. It has been carnage in the Powerplay throughout the tournament. It is a good wicket. With slower balls, it did hold up. Mid-innings, thought we were a smidgen over par but we were probably well over par.
Calvin Savage has been named as the 'Most Valuable Player of the Match'
Time for the Post-match Presentation
Albie Morkel (TSK, Acting Head Coach): Very good so far. Up in North Carolina, there was a lot of rain, so that stopped our tournament a little bit. Often, it is tough for guys to get up for games like this. But this was a good exercise for us to play with high intensity. (About Calvin Savage's performance) He struggled last year with a few injuries. His batting has come on a lot this year. When you have a hot hand, things can happen for us. Happy for him.
Texas Super Kings win by 37 runs!
Calvin Savage 45* (27) | Ottniel Baartman - 3/20 (4) Quinton de Kock 26 (19) | Keemo Paul - 2/18 (3)
The final match of the group stage ends in an impressive win for the team in yellow! They play the Eliminator tomorrow, so this performance with a slightly new-look team will definitely boost their confidence. Texas Super Kings are up for the challenge for sure now.
The Seattle Orcas innings never really took off, even though they managed to get over 45 runs in the power play with only 1 wicket down. But the intent was not what it should have been to be honest. They kept leaving things too late and kept losing wickets at important times. In the end, they never kept abreast with the asking rate.
The Super Kings did not necessarily field all that well, but their overall effort with the ball and the captaincy from Faf du Plessis were spot on!
So, the table toppers of last season end their campaign as the bottom-placed team this season! The Super Kings remain third in the ladder, hoping to advance to the second qualifier now.

19.6 Marcus Stoinis to Nandre Burger, slower delivery on a length, Burger swings it to long-on and takes a single. That is that as TSK register a 37-run victory.
