FULL TIME: HARYANA STEELERS 28-25 UP YODDHAS!

Wow! What a semi-final we have been treated to! Haryana Steelers hold their nerve in the dying embers of the game and now become the first finalists of the PKL Season 11. Take nothing away from UP Yoddhas, they have been right on the money but a moment of brilliance snatched the game away from them. 

Both teams were separated by only a point at halftime. The Steelers looked as if they were faltering a bit in the next couple of minutes after the halftime. Both teams saw that there was a fair chance when with one minute to go, the score read 25-24 to Haryana Steelers. But a Super Tackle from Rahul Sethpal hit the final nail in the coffin and propelled the Steelers into their second consecutive final.

For the Steelers, Rahul Sethpal registered a High 5 and Shivam Patare and Vinay provided solidity in the raiding department with 7 and 6 points each. For the Yoddhas, it was Hitesh with the High 5 and Gagan Gowda with the Super 10 but not much support from the others. Unfortunate for them, a memorable season comes to an abrupt end.

40' Gagan Gowda clutches a move as he manages to send Jaideep off the mat, with a poor tackle. DO OR DIE RAID FOR HARYANA STEELERS! Vinay with the raid and an error from Bharat Hooda sees him get a bonus point. Steelers appeal for the bonus and review it, but the trailing foot has landed on the mat. 

Shadloui with a hurried tackle on Gagan Gowda and that is the third time he has beaten the Iranian. SUPER TACKLE FROM HARYANA STEELERS! In the penultimate raid of the game, Rahul Sethpal goes for a double thigh hold and sends Gagan off the mat. AN EMPTY RAID IN THE END AND HARYANA STEELERS WIN 28-25  TO SECURE A BERTH IN THE FINALS!

Haryana Steelers 25-23 UP Yoddhas

36' Bhavani Rajput with a fine back kick on Shadloui and sends the Steelers MVP off the mat.  DO OR DIE RAID FOR HARYANA STEELERS! Shivam Patare with the raid and Sumit errs with his ankle hold.

Bhavani Rajput with the raid and a hold from Rahul Sethpal sends him off the mat. Shivam Patare with the raid and gets a bonus but he is dashed out of bounds.

Haryana Steelers 25-22 UP Yoddhas

34' Bharat Hooda with the raid and Shadloui pins him down to the Steelers half. Sahil with an attempted back hold but Gagan turns away quick and manages to get past the midline

32' Great start after the timeout as the Steelers dash out Bhavani Rajput. DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE STEELERS! Vinay with the raid and a thigh hold by Sumit sends the raider off the mat

Haryana Steelers 21-19 UP Yoddhas

30' DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE STEELERS! Shivam Patare with the raid but Sumit sends him out of bounds. DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE YODDHAS! Gagan Gowda with the raid and he manages to escape Rahul Sethpal and get a touch point in his favour. Time for a break to rework on the strategies

28' Both teams put in raids, but only to kill the clock while UP Yoddhas get a bonus point

Haryana Steelers 21-16 UP Yoddhas

26' DO OR DIE RAIDS ON BOTH SIDES! While Shivam Patare gets Mahender off the mat, Gagan Gowda manages to send Shadloui off the mat again. Vinay manages to escape Hitesh and gets another point

Haryana Steelers 21-15 UP Yoddhas

24' A swift toe touch from Shivam Patare as he sends Ashu off the mat. Big moment in the game! Bhavani Rajput with the raid and he did get a couple of touches, but since it happened out of time, the point goes to Haryana Steelers and Yoddhas gets the bonus point

Haryana Steelers 19-14 UP Yoddhas

22' Shivam Patare with the raid and he escapes Hitesh's ankle hold. Bonus for UP Yoddhas before Mohammadreza Kaboudrahangi gifts Mohammadreza Shadloui. Bharat Hooda with the raid and he does manage to escape the tackle, not before he is surrounded by defenders around him. UP YODDHAS ARE ALL OUT!

Both teams have managed their knockout nerves quite nicely. Haryana Steelers are currently holding a slender lead of a point and now they will want to maximise on the advantage. On the other hand, the Yoddhas will want to make a comeback here. They are behind by a very small margin but should they get their key men such as Bhavani Rajput and Gagan Gowda back on the mat, we could see the game completely turn on its head.

20' Haryana Steelers manage to pull one back as Sanjay gets in the way of Gagan Gowda's return and holds him in the half. DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE STEELERS! Shivam Patare manages to jump past Sumit's double thigh hold and adds another point. Bharat Hooda runs the clock down and that's all for this half

18' Shivam Patare continue to light up the Balewadi as he manages to escape Bhavani Rajput's back hold. Attempted hold from Shadloui on Bharat Hooda goes wrong as he gives a point away.

Haryana Steelers 10-11 UP Yoddhas

16' DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE YODDHAS! Shadloui goes for the ankle hold but errs and a dash off Jaideep also fails with Gagan Gowda putting in a multi point raid. Shivam Patare pulls one back, with the left cover Mahender Singh being a victim of his hand touch

14' Vinay with the raid and he stays deep before look to turn and return before Ashu puts in a dash and he escapes it

DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE YODDHAS! Gagan Gowda with the raid and he fails to escape the block put in by Sanjay. Hitesh with a dash on Shivam Patare soon after and the raider is off the mat. Steelers review the decision but it is unsuccessful

10' A series of empty raids by both sides. After the timeout, it will be a DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE STEELERS!

Haryana Steelers 5-6 UP Yoddhas

8' DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE STEELERS! Vishal Tate manages to escape the tackle but some excellent defending from Sumit holds Tate back in the Yoddhas half

DO OR DIE RAID FOR THE YODDHAS! Bhavani Rajput manages to escape the tackle and dash and gets his hands past the midline, but he was airborne and has been given out. Yoddhas review the same but it is unsuccessful and that one ends in the favour of Haryana Steelers

4' A first successful tackle as Bhavani Rajput combines forces with Hitesh and sends Vinay off the mat. Yoddhas continue to be relentless as Hitesh goes for the back hold and succeeds.

2' What a start to the game! Both teams with punches thrown at each other. Gagan Gowda gets the kick on Shadloui before Vinay manages to escape the dash and come back. Sanjay is a victim of Bhavani Rajput's running hand touch

The first of the big Three clashes to determine a PKL Champion awaits us. The teams will be looking to go hard at each other with no half-measures and ensure they are able to seal a win. A win here will propel them into the finals.

Haryana Steelers have had a good rest after their last game, with the table toppers securing direct qualification to this game. They will be looking to go all out and ensure that they have a clinical performance to help them step foot into the finals. As for UP Yoddhas, they come on the back of a complete game against Jaipur Pink Panthers and will be eager to go one and replicate a similar performance.
