5 best commands for Minecraft builders
Minecraft allows players to do almost anything. From exploring different biomes and collecting minerals and items to fighting dangerous mobs and trading with villagers, they can do whatever they set their mind to. However, some players just stick to building different structures in the game.
These talented builders have made things such as large Gothic castles, fictional and non-fictional cities, and much more. And this is where commands come in. Special game commands allow builders to speed up their building process without the use of mods.

5 best commands that Minecraft builders should try out
Commands in Minecraft help players do certain actions that would take a lot of time in a normal playthrough. While no one should try using them during normal gameplay as commands are considered as cheating and disable achievements, they are perfect for building projects. They work perfectly fine with the Vanilla version of the game and require no mods or World Edit.
So let’s take a look at the five best commands that can help builders in their next project.
1) Place Feature
Before the build gets started, it is important to first create the right environment around it. This is where the “Place Feature” command comes in. It allows players to add a particular structure or feature anywhere based on the coordinates. For example, this is what the command looks like:
/placefeature feature coordinates
So to add a structure, say amethyst geode, players need to use this command in the chat box:
/placefeature amethyst_geode ~ ~ ~
“~” refers to the coordinates. Not adding any coordinates will result in the structure spawning at the player’s location.
2) Fill
Fill is another great command that can come in handy when someone is trying to create a specific space for the build. As the name suggests, this command helps in filling up a space, and players can specify the exact area that they want to fill and what block they want it to be filled with. The command is:
/fill X1 Y1 Z1 X2 Y2 Z2 block
The X1, Y1, and Z1 refer to the starting point of the area, while the X2, Y2, and Z2 define the endpoint of the coordinates. The “block” part is used to place whatever block players want to fill the area with.
There’s also the option to add more commands to it, including Replace, Destroy, Keep, Hollow, and Outline. Although this command can get quite complicated, it can be really powerful in terraforming a biome or an area.
3) Clone Block
Another great command that every Minecraft builder should use is the Clone Block. As the name suggests, it allows players to clone a particular area and place it somewhere else. This means that a specific area of a block can be added to other areas. It comes particularly useful when someone wants to replicate a part of the build.
The command for the clone block is:
/clone X1 Y1 Z1 X2 Y2 Z2 X3 Y3 Z3
The coordinates of X1, Y1, Z1, and X2, Y2, Z2 represent the starting and the ending point of the structure to be cloned. Meanwhile, the X3, Y3, Z3 is the location where the cloned structure has to be put.
4) Fill Biome
When it comes to customizing an area in Minecraft, the fill biome command is absolutely necessary. It allows users to add any biome into a particular region. What’s even better is that the command is simple and does not require too many variables.
The command for Fill Biome is:
/fill biome <from> <to> <biome>
5) Particle
As the name suggests, the particle command allows players to spawn particles in the game. This is great for builders who want to add a layer of details to their builds.
It makes the structure look better, and exploring the area more immersive. The best part about this command is that players just have to mention “Particle” in the text box and they can choose any particle from the menu.
The command for summoning particles in Minecraft is:
/particle <particle name> X Y Z
X, Y, and Z are the specific coordinates where players want the particles to spawn and remain limited. The command works in both Java and Bedrock edition of Minecraft.
