Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.20 has introduced many new changes and features ahead of the upcoming Pale Garden winter drop. This new update has made some significant tweaks to interaction with certain blocks.

Here are the five best features and changes in Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.20.

1) Creaking tweaks

Among the most important parts of the Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.20 preview are the modifications to the creaking mob.

As part of the update, an activated creaking will not move if a player is looking at it. Additionally, the creaking is invulnerable to damage; the only way to eliminate one is to destroy its creaking heart. The mob is also not affected by the light cycle, but it spawns and despawns based on the day/night cycle in the biome.

The new update restricts the creaking from entering boats. Creakings that spawn from a creaking heart cannot go through portals.

Moreover, a player who wears a carved pumpkin on their head can look at a creaking without freezing it in its place, making a great loophole.

This update also implements specific rules about the powers and limitations of creakings that spawn in certain situations. Those that appear from a creaking spawn egg will spawn a creaking mob that is not connected to a creaking heart. This mob is immune to the day/night cycle and is susceptible to damage from players and other damage sources, having half a heart as health.

2) Creaking heart changes

One of the biggest sections of the Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.20 preview has to do with the winter drop and its notorious mob, the creaking. The creaking heart is essentially a living block generated in the Pale Oak trees and is the only way to defeat a creaking in the game.

The new update update transforms the activities of the creaking, making it active during the night and rendering it dormant during the daytime. Additionally, when a player is hit by a creaking, the relevant creaking heart sends a trail back to it.

When a creaking heart is destroyed, the connected creaking is removed from the map. Additionally, the creaking heart is set to emit a series of eerie sounds when it is activated during the night and surrounded by logs on all sides.

3) Modifications to the Pale Garden

When Mojang released Minecraft snapshot 24w40a, it allowed players to experience features of the Pale Garden. Many players complained of the lack of ambiance and sounds in the biome, and this new update made improvements to fx the issue.

Bedrock 1.21.50.20 gives subtle atmospheric sounds to the Pale Hanging Moss when it is attached to Pale Oak Logs and Pale Oak Leaves. This essentially adds to the eerie atmosphere of the biome based on the dark forest.

4) Pale Oak wood set gets a host of items

The Pale Oak wood set became an instant player favorite since its preview in the 24w40a snapshot.

Responding to the positive feedback, Mojang added a host of features and items related to the beloved Pale Oak wood set in the Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.20 update:

  • Door
  • Fence
  • Fence Gate
  • Plank
  • Sign
  • Hanging Sign
  • Slab
  • Stairs
  • Trapdoor
  • Wood
  • Stripped Log
  • Stripped Wood
  • Button
  • Pressure Plate
  • Boat
  • Boat with Chest

Additionally, the Pale Oak leaves drop Pale Oak saplings, which can be planted in a 2x2 configuration to grow Pale Oak trees. This is great for players who wish to harvest saplings by braving the Pale Garden and starting their own Pale Oak plantation in the vicinity and safety of their base.

5) Modifications to the behavior of certain blocks

Another major aspect of Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.20 is the modifications introduced to the actions of certain blocks. Swords can now cut Bamboo saplings instantly, as they do with Bamboo. Players can no longer mine Bamboo Saplings and Moss Carpets faster with the Axes.

Pickaxes and Shovels can no longer mine Bamboo as quickly as Axes. Players must craft the Axes if they wish to mine this block. Additionally, Maces no longer mine Cobwebs faster than other non-sword tools. Those who wish to mine Heavy Core now do it faster if they have any improper tool equipped.

Players can also mine Crafter quickly with any Pickaxes, removing the necessity to upgrade their tools to mine it. Mining a Dragon Egg no longer requires a Pickaxe to drop. It can be mined quickly with any tool. Additionally, copper trapdoors and bulbs require a Stone Pickaxe or better for drops and quick mining.

Thanks to the update, Note Blocks placed above Heavy Core now play the proper sound.
