5 things you might be doing wrong in Minecraft

In Minecraft, players can explore and play the game in various ways. The sandbox title has various activities to indulge in like exploring all three dimensions, finding resources, crafting all kinds of items and blocks, building, and more. However, there are some mistakes players might make that complicate their survival.

Here are some mistakes that players might be making in Minecraft.

List of common mistakes Minecraft players might be doing

1) Digging straight down

Digging straight down is one of the most common and infamous mistakes newbies make when entering a new world. Since most rare and useful ores are deep below the Overworld, players quickly started digging down to reach the desired Y level to start mining ores. However, this is dangerous as they can fall into a massive cave and die from fall damage, or drop into a pool of lava and burn to death.

While digging straight down is quite famous in the Minecraft community for the blunder, some might still do this.

2) Not using a shield

Shields are gear that players can use to protect themselves from most attacks. They can block arrows, melee attacks, and others. This is a massive lifesaver that a few might not use. If players think fighting with an offensive stance, they might not use a shield. However, this can cause issues since the game can throw a dire situation at any moment.

Players might get into trouble for not using a shield, especially when hordes of hostile mobs come at them at the same time.

3) Frequently running and jumping in irregular terrains

Exploring is a fun activity in the game. Even if players don't have a horse or other traveling methods, they simply sprint and jump constantly to cover long distances. However, they must always be aware of their surroundings for any potential ravines or cliffs. In recent updates, even the Overworld's terrain is slightly amplified, which could cause accidental falls that deal massive fall damage.

Hence, players must always be aware of sprinting and jumping around and only do so when they know that there is no major ravine nearby.

4) Entering the Nether without gold armor

Another common mistake players could make is entering the Nether realm without a gold armor part. This is because the hellish realm has Piglins that get angry at players not wearing gold armor. New players have experienced a lot of trouble if they encounter a group of Piglins without gold armor.

Hence, they must always wear any gold armor piece to pacify them. However, explorers should be aware that Piglins remain neutral and can attack players if hurt.

5) Using the right tools on blocks

There are lots of different tools and blocks to mine and obtain in Minecraft. Hence, it can be tricky for new players to know which tool is used to mine what kind of block. Hence, another common mistake they could make is to use the wrong tool to mine blocks.

Once they mine it, it will not drop anything or the blocks that are less in quantity. This could even happen to more experienced players who might forget the mechanics.
