A Minecraft Movie has just dropped its official trailer, and fans are buzzing with excitement. The A Minecraft Movie trailer opens with Jack Black's Steve entering the blocky world of Mojang’s game and taming a wolf. The video also features a redstone contraption with lava and pistons, used to cook a chicken.

Other scenes feature cast members Jason Momoa and Sebastian Hansen breaking and placing blocks, as well as items such as the elytra, the iron golem, a full armor set made of iron, and an ender pearl.

However, as night falls in the trailer, things take a darker turn. Familiar hostile mobs such as zombies and skeletons appear, though they look different from their in-game counterparts. Notably, skeletons are shown riding wolves and using fire arrows.

The behind-the-scenes video offers more insights into Garrett, played by Jason Momoa. It reveals that Garrett, one of the top arcade video game players in the 80s, has not mentally moved past those days, which explains his pink leather jacket and aggressive demeanor.

Additionally, the character of Henry is revealed to be a modder, while Steve, played by Jack Black, is from the real world and becomes trapped in Mojang's sandbox universe.

The film is set to release in the US on April 4, 2025.
