All new Minecraft blocks and items announced at Live 2024

Minecraft Live 2024 introduced quite a bit of content including a new biome, a unique mob, and more than a few items and blocks to accommodate the two freshly revealed game drops including Bundles of Bravery and the Pale Garden. These blocks and items have some interesting functionality attached to them, and the blocks in particular should be a boon for prospective builders.

Although more blocks and items featured in these two game drops may be revealed in the coming months when they come to Java snapshots and Bedrock previews, for the time being, it's still worth taking a look at the different blocks and items confirmed at Minecraft Live 2024.

With the introduction of the Pale Garden and Bundles of Bravery game drops in Minecraft, there are a few blocks and items that players will want to be aware of before the two drops release, including the following:

  • Pale Oak Wood - The logs of pale oak trees can be cut down by hand or with a tool, and they can then be used as a building/decorative material. Pale oak logs can also be stripped with an axe or crafted into the usual wooden planks, stairs, fences, doors, and more much like the other wood types present within the game.
  • Pale Oak Leaves - By and large, pale oak leaves function like other leaf blocks but have a distinct pale coloration to them due to them sharing a color palette with the pale oak tree. They can be collected by using a Silk Touch tool.
  • Hanging Moss - Pale-colored moss that hangs from the top and sides of pale oak trees, can be harvested and used as a decoration much like ordinary vines.
  • Pale Moss Carpet - Similar to moss carpet seen in lush cave biomes, and can be harvested much like ordinary moss carpet. When placed adjacent to other blocks, pale vine-like textures can sometimes be shown creeping vertically up the adjacent blocks.
  • Creaking Hearts - A new block that blends in with pale oak trees but gives off an orange coloration when activated. When placed between and aligned with two pale oak blocks, creaking hearts activate. At nightfall, these Minecraft blocks are capable of spawning the creaking, a new tree-like hostile mob that the creaking heart controls like a puppet. Creaking hearts must be destroyed to destroy the creaking mob, but they can also be broken and picked up using a Silk Touch-enchanted tool, where they can then be placed and used in other locations.
  • Bundles and Dyed Bundles - While these items aren't "new" in the traditional aspect (they were announced in Minecraft's Caves & Cliffs update and have been available as Experimental Features), Mojang did confirm that the Bundles of Bravery game drop would be introducing bundles as a vanilla, non-experimental feature. These items allow players to store various items/blocks in a single inventory slot, and they can even be dyed to suit player tastes.

Even more blocks and items may be stashed away in the upcoming game drops announced at Live 2024, but this is what we know so far. In the coming days and weeks when Bundles of Bravery and the Pale Garden are launched in snapshots and previews, there should be even more details and insights into what Mojang is introducing in Minecraft.
