An old Minecraft structure would be a perfect addition to Pale Garden

Mojang recently revealed the new Pale Garden biome that will feature in a future Minecraft update or drop. This new biome was announced in Minecraft Live, the annual event wherein the studio talks about future updates and celebrates its growing community. While the new biome looks quite unique luring, it lacks any structure that can be generated in it.

However, the Overworld realm has a great structure that could fit perfectly in the desolate new biome. These structures are abandoned villages.

Here's why abandoned villages are perfect structures to generate in the new Minecraft Pale Garden biome

Abandoned Villages have an equally eerie vibe as the Pale Garden

Abandoned Village is a special and rare variant of a regular village that has no healthy villagers spawning in it. Even the iron golems or cats don't spawn in this structure.

When a chunk loads that has a village in it, it has a 2% chance of becoming abandoned. Apart from no normal mob spawning in it, the village has broken houses and cobwebs all over the place, making it look desolate and eerie.

This same feeling is captured perfectly in the new Pale Garden biome. When Mojang announced and showcased the new biome, it was clear the region didn't have any regular Overworld mob spawning. Furthermore, when players enter this biome, the game will not automatically play music to change the mood.

Although abandoned villages usually spawn in plains and are surrounded by colorful green grass blocks and flowers, they would look even creepier if generated in Pale Gardens. Moreover, the new wood set that the new biome offers can be used to generate these abandoned villages so that they blend into the environment and enhance the spooky factor.

As of now, abandoned villages have a chance to generate regular Overworld biomes like deserts, plains, meadows savanna, and snowy plains. On the other hand, Mojang hasn't announced any new structure that could feature in the new biome.

How the new Creaking mob can be used to create a narrative around abandoned villages

If Mojang were to add abandoned villages to Pale Garden, their new mob, Creaking, could also play a great role in weaving the story around the desolate settlement.

Creaking is a new mob that Mojang announced in their most recent Minecraft Live event. This mob will only spawn in Pale Garden biomes at night. It has special mechanics like being stationary as long as players look at it, and its health is connected to a new block called a creaking heart.

A narrative can be woven that villagers used to flourish in the forest once, but how the Creaking came and killed them, after which their village became abandoned. The lore can extend that the Pale Garden was once a regular forest, but the Creaking gradually corrupted the land and made it a desaturated haunted wasteland.
