Easiest way to cure villagers in Minecraft Bedrock
Minecraft has naturally spawning villages that are populated by hard-working villagers who just make two or three noises. But these villagers provide rare items that can be traded for something. However, you might have noticed that sometimes, there’s a zombie that looks different from the rest of the zombies. Instead of having the default light and dark blue outfit, this special zombie looks like a villager.
Zombie villagers either spawn naturally or when a zombie attacks a villager. They are exactly like normal zombies, i.e., they will attack you if you get close to them. But before you take out your sword or mace and start attacking them, you might want to cure them. In this article, we’ll explain how to cure a Minecraft villager who has turned into a zombie and why.
How to cure Minecraft zombie villager
Despite the threatening looks and eagerness to attack, there’s still a villager inside that zombie. Thankfully, curing the zombie villager is quick and easy but requires in-game experience from you.
Here’s a list of all the things you will need to cure the villager:
- Brewing stand
- Blaze rod and Blaze powder
- Golden apple
- Glass bottles
- Fermented spider eye (can be made using sugar and spider eye)
- Gunpowder
As evident from the list, most of the items require you to explore the Minecraft world, find chests and find a nether castle to defeat the Blaze to get the Blaze rod. Not all easy stuff, but with time you can collect all of these items. So once you have them, move to the next step—brewing potions in the game.
Making splash potion of weakness
To make the splash potion of weakness, you will need to use the brewing stand. Thankfully, this process does not require too many steps. Here’s how to make the potion:
Step 1: Open the brewing stand and place three water bottles at the bottom slots. Water bottles can be made by crafting glass bottles and then filling them with water.
Step 2: Place the blaze rod and the blaze powder in the slots on the left side. In case you are wondering, blaze powder can be made by using a blaze rod. It is safe to acquire more than one blaze rod to be on the safe side.
Step 3: Place the fermented spider eye on the top slot above the water bottles. This will start a reaction, and after a few seconds, you’ll find the water bottles turned into potions of weakness.
Note: This is not the final step, as you need to turn the potion of weakness bottles into splash potions of weakness. The difference between the two is that splash potions can be used as projectiles to give the effect to other mobs or players.
Step 4: To make a splash potion of weakness, just add gunpowder in the same slot where the fermented spider eye was placed. After the brewing process finishes, you will notice that the shape of the water bottles has changed. Now, you are ready to cure some zombies.
Curing the zombie villager
Once you locate the zombie villager, you need to restrain it properly to make sure it does not attack you. This can be done by leading it in a house or an enclosed space, but the best method here would be surrounding the zombie villager with wood or cobblestone.
Once restrained, throw a splash potion of weakness at it. After that, take out the golden apple. If you do not have one, you can craft it by using an apple and eight gold ingots. With the golden apple in your hands, interact with the zombie villager.
After a few seconds and some jittery movement by the zombie villager, it will be back to its original form—a happy villager who trades and makes noises.
Why cure a zombie villager
Well, there are a couple of reasons why curing a zombie villager can be beneficial for you.
Firstly, if an entire village has been turned into a zombie village, you can cure all the villagers and start trading with them. The cured villagers offer heavy discounts in trading, which means you can get great items at a low price! A win-win for both sides.
