How to get Artificial Selection achievement in Minecraft

In Minecraft, as you progress through the game, you get all sorts of achievements and, in turn, get rewards from them. These achievements will unlock once you complete a task in the game. Some are quite simple, while others require hours or even days of preparation. Artificial Selection is one of the easier Bedrock Edition-exclusive achievements that you can get.

Here is how the Artificial Selection achievement in Minecraft Bedrock Edition can be acquired.

Steps to get Artificial Selection in Minecraft Bedrock

1) Find and tame a horse and a donkey

First, you need to find a stray donkey and a horse. Both these mobs can be found in biomes like plains, sunflower plains, savanna (only horses), and more. Once they are found, you must tame one of them and bring them near each other.

Both donkeys and horses can be tamed by repeatedly mounting them with bare hands. They can also be fed wheat for a chance at taming them quickly.

Once tamed, they can either be leashed or saddled to control their movement. This will allow you to bring them closer. The aim is to essentially breed the horse and the donkey with one another, which will spawn a mule and complete the achievement.

2) Craft golden carrots for breeding

Once a donkey and a horse are found and tamed, you must start crafting golden carrots, which are essential for breeding. While you can also use golden apples for it, they are much more expensive to craft and have better use on yourself.

Golden carrots can be crafted with eight gold nuggets and one regular carrot in the middle of the crafting table. For this breeding process, you will only need two golden carrots.

3) Breed the donkey and the horse to get a mule and the achievement

Once players feed the donkey and the horse one golden carrot, they will enter love mode and breed with one another to spawn a mule. This will unlock the Artificial Selection achievement in Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
