The villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21 is one of the most useful builds if you wish to farm tons of villagers in the game. These mobs are the life force of your village and can be made to run important stations like farming, fletching, trading, and more. Villager breeders are a popular build option in-game and allow you to automate the process of creating new ones for your world.

Here's how you can make a villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21.

How to make a villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21

The villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21 can be crafted quite easily. You just need to collect a few materials and follow the steps to create a fully automated system that will generate villager mobs for you.

To make the villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21, you will need the following materials:

  • Water
  • Composter
  • Hoe
  • Hundred glass blocks
  • Carrots
  • Three trapdoors
  • Six beds
  • Two signs
  • Two villagers

Here's how you can craft the villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21:

1) Place water block

Find a relatively flat piece of land and dig a hole in the ground. Next, you must pour water into the hole using a bucket. If you do not have a bucket, you can craft one using three iron ingots on the crafting table.

2) Till four blocks

Next, take a hoe and till four blocks from every side of the hole with water in it. You just put exactly four blocks in all directions for the breeder to work efficiently. Use your hoe to interact with the ground and till it. You will notice the tilled area turning darker.

3) Join the blocks to make the farm

Till the rest of the blocks along those four lines and join the area as shown above to create a large square. This will essentially prepare your area for the villager breeder and act as the farm that generates food.

4) Plant carrots on the farm

You must now place carrots on the freshly tilled land. It is recommended to fill up all the tilled slots with carrots since it boosts the production of food, also buffing the farming of villagers.

5) Place the composter block

Next, you must place a composter right above the body of water at the center. You can easily do so by pointing at the block above the water and placing it. Once placed, stack a block of glass on top of it.

6) Make a glass border around the farm

Your next task is to create a border of glass around the farm. Make the border two glass blocks high and cover the entire area. This prevents hostile mobs from making their way into your farm and eliminating your villagers.

7) Open a way to the catchment area

Next, face any of the sides and break two glass blocks that are in direct line of sight with the composter block. This will be crucial to crafting the villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21.

8) Place three trapdoors to create the trap

Place three trapdoors as shown above. These trapdoors will ensure that the new villagers that are farmed can be collected easily. Make sure the last trapdoor is always closed since it will prevent the adult mobs from falling. You can use any material to craft these three items.

9) Place the beds for the breeding area

Place six beds as shown above. Make sure the first bed you place is just in front of the trapdoor area you built. Place the other five beds right around the first bed and proceed to the next step.

10) Create the trap for the baby mobs

Next, you must go one block behind the bed and dig three levels deep. Jump down the hole and keep removing all the dirt blocks in front of you till you reach the trapdoors you had placed.

11) Fill the underground area with water

Use your water bucket and fill the area with water aiming at the block on the bottom. You will instantly see a current of water pushing you back towards the hole you created to get down.

12) Place the signs on the ground

Place the two signs as shown above. Aim at the block in front of you at your level and place the first sign to the right. Then, place the second sign on the ground level just in front of you. You will notice the stream of water has stopped after the second sign is placed. This is essential in preventing the baby mobs from going back to the villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21.

13) Remove the upper blocks

Next, look up and remove the block on the top and the one in front of it. This is essential in creating the mob collection area for the villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21.

14) Pour water to create the catchment area

Aim your bucket and pour water on this block to create a double stream of water — one that leads down to the shaft while the other goes forward. Get up the water stream and you will be pushed to the area in the front.

15) Extend the stream of water

Keep breaking the blocks in the direction of the water's flow to create a slope till the water runs out. Once the water runs out, place any block next to the block where the stream ends.

16) Extend the glass barricade around your build

Once you have placed the block at the end of the stream, surround the entire stream and the area of the beds with two stacks of glass blocks. This is essential to ensure the villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21 is protected from mobs.

17) Replace the tilled block

One of the final steps you must follow is to replace the tilled dirt block just before the trapdoor with a grass block or any other block to make sure the baby villager goes towards it.

18) Place villagers on the farm

Place two villager mobs on the farm. They will be the source of new mobs on your farm. You can break a few of the glass blocks and get the mobs inside. Once they are inside, close off the walls to make sure they cannot escape.

19) Start the farm with carrots

It is recommended to drop a few stacks of carrots to the villager mobs to get the farm started. This is a self-sustaining villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21, so the mobs will eventually grow their food. Once you have given the food stack, you must wait for them to enter love mode.

20) Wait for the villagers to breed

You will notice hearts around the villagers, confirming that they have entered breeding mode. It is recommended to stay far away during this to avoid interrupting the process. Now, you must wait for the baby to be born.

21) The villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21 is now complete

Once a baby villager is born, it will go down the trapdoor and flow down the stream to the final catchment area. Wait for the baby mob to flow to the edge and grow into an adult. Your villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21 is successfully working.

You can come back occasionally to feed the baby mobs to speed up the process or wait a while and let it happen naturally. Another important thing to keep in mind is that you should evacuate the mobs from the area to free up space for more. Make sure to set up a dispenser with minecarts that will transport them out of the villager breeder in Minecraft 1.21.
