How to use Minecraft set time command

Minecraft commands allow you to change almost every aspect of the game, add new items, and even give weapons and powers. Using the commands is also quite easy. You can also use specific commands to alter the time in the game. The set time command allows you to set a specific time either using keywords such as “day” or integers to specifically set the tick value.

Using the set time command in Minecraft works much like using any other command in the game. The great thing about this command is that you can either change the time of Minecraft to day, noon, night, or even midnight. But if you want to set a specific time, it can also be done using tick values.

First, here’s how you can set the time based on a keyword. Bring up the chat box and start the command. Type in the command /time set X, where “X” refers to what you want at the current time. You can choose from midnight, night, noon, and day. Options will also pop up to help you choose from the available ones.

If you want to set the time to a particular tick value, mention an integer between 1 and 24000. For example, the command /time set 6000 will change the time to noon. Different values represent different times of the day. Here’s a handy guide to give you an idea:

Start of the day - 1
Noon - 6000
Sunset - 13000
Midnight - 18000
Next day - 24000

Before you get started with using the set time command, tweak some settings to use the commands. By default, survival gameplay has cheats and commands disabled. Using commands is considered cheating and disables achievements. So keep that in mind before proceeding with it.

To enable commands, follow these steps:

Launch the game world you want to enable commands in.
In the pause menu, select the “Open to LAN” option.
Here, you can change the game mode from survival to creative.
Make sure to toggle the “Allow Cheats” button to “ON.”
Then, click on the “Start LAN World” option to get back into the game.
