Interesting Minecraft lore discovered between Illagers and Creaking

When the Creaking mob was first released in Minecraft snapshots and beta/preview versions, many noticed that the only variety of mobs that were scared of the wood-like creature were Illagers, like Evokers, Vindicators, Pillagers, and even Ravagers were scared of the new mob, while every other mob was cool with the Creaking.

Recently, Mojang released resin, an item that will be generated in Pale Garden. The methods of obtaining this item give hints that directly link the new biome and the Creaking to Illagers and give some insight into their untold lore.

In Minecraft 1.21.50.25, Mojang released resin as a new item that can be found in Pale Garden. Resin is made through the Creaking, when it is hit with any weapon, it will take energy from its heart block, located in one of the pale oak trees. Once it takes the energy, the heart block secretes resin clumps deposited on other pale oak wood logs surrounding the block.

These resin clumps can be obtained by scraping them off the pale oak trees or by destroying the heart block itself. Additionally, there is another completely unrelated place where these new items can be found. Resin clumps have a 16% chance of being present in one of the chests found in Woodland Mansion, Illager's stronghold.

This is a peculiar place for them to generate, especially since Illagers have no relation to the Pale Garden and Creaking. However, when we notice how Illagers are scared of the Creaking and flee away from it, a potential story can be woven around them.

The Illagers likely patrolled the lands as they usually do and found the Pale Garden. When they tried to kill the Creaking, they discovered that it could not be killed by simply hitting it. The Illagers must have managed to find resin clumps after hitting the Creaking, and quickly gathered the item and ran away from Pale Garden.

Another lore speculation that can work well with their relationship is that the Pale Garden looks awfully like a regular Dark Forest, where Woodland Mansions generate. Hence, a connection can be made that Pale Gardens once used to be Dark Forests before the Illagers did something that converted the biome and created the Creaking. After the biome was converted, the Illagers ran away with whatever resources they could get from the biome, including resin clumps.
