Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 and 5 introduces a host of bug fixes ahead of the upcoming drop
Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 introduces a host of changes primarily aimed at improving the gameplay experience regarding the usage of items. This update provided a fix for an issue where the text on the maps that are in item frames was being rendered through blocks, causing visual disturbances.
The pre-release also added a fix for the issue with the compass that did not show the correct direction when equipped on the left hand. Similarly, a bug where clocks are mirrored and spin in the wrong direction when in the left hand was also fixed.
As for items, the pre-release fixed a bug where item cooldowns of item stacks greater than 1 are rendered in front of the item tooltip, obscuring visibility. A similar fix was made to the landing point of arrows, which was lower than in earlier versions.
The crafting book also received a bug fix, where previously, crafting an item for the first time removed all tabs in the recipe book other than the topmost one. Invisible block entities and items also received an overhaul to keep them from disappearing.
The issue of wandering traders appearing smaller than in previous versions was also addressed as part of the Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 4 fixes. However, although marked as fixed, sliding down honey blocks is still different from previous versions and seems to be a persistent issue.
As for the pre-release 5 fixes, only two changes were made. One fixed a bug where the Recipe book was not being updated when one of the available recipes was used. The second fix addressed a different bug where some of the arrows shot at walls while facing south would go vertically instead of hitting horizontally.
