Minecraft: 5 things that make Pale Garden special

In Minecraft's upcoming Winter Drop, Mojang will release a brand new biome named Pale Garden. It was first revealed in September 2024 during the game's annual live event. Ever since then, the developers have updated and added new features to it, and are currently polishing it for a stable release via the upcoming Winter Drop.

Here is a list of a few features that make the Pale Garden special in Minecraft.

List of 5 features that make Minecraft's Pale Garden biome special

1) Creaking

A special hostile mob known as the Creaking appears in the new Pale Garden biome at night and hunts players as long as they are not looking at it. This implies that the mob will begin to approach the player and launch an attack as soon as it leaves the player's view on the screen.

Another unique feature of the Creaking is that it cannot be eliminated by direct ranged or melee attacks. Instead, its heart will be located in the form of a block in one of the pale oak trees nearby. To eliminate the new mob, players must find and destroy that block.

This is the most interesting feature of the new biome.

2) Resin blocks

The new biome also introduces a new type of building block made of a new resource called resin. The Creaking mob's heart block will release resin droplets onto the nearby pale oak logs when players strike the creature. These droplets can be mined and gathered as resin clumps. If players were wondering how they would be able to find the heart block, all they have to do is look for the resin clumps.

These resin clumps can then be smelted into resin bricks, which can then be used to craft new building blocks with a bright orange color and a unique texture.

3) Pale Oak blocks

New building blocks are also introduced through the Pale Garden biome. Players will have access to a brand-new wood type as the Pale Garden biome creates new pale oak trees. The new pale oak wood set is white, with only the log blocks being dark gray from the outside. These are another new set of building blocks that players can use in various structures.

Even though the game already has loads of new wood types, many players were waiting for a white variant.

4) Eyeblossom flowers

A new flower called eyeblossoms is also coming with the biome. These feature a unique mechanism that is based on the Overworld's day/night cycle. They will stay closed during the day, resembling gray bulbs strewn around the biome.

The eyeblossoms will gradually open and reveal their glowing orangish-yellow color as night falls. They get their name because the flower's petals appear uncannily similar to the Creaking's eyes.

5) Sudden ambience change

Finally, the Pale Garden biome itself has lots of unique ambient features that will fascinate players. They only hear sporadic wood creaking sounds as they approach the new biome, while all other ambient sounds vanish.

When players enter the eerie biome, even the sky becomes desaturated. The region is not dangerous during the day, but several hostile mobs spawn at night, including the Creaking.
