Minecraft fan recreates popular Shibuya crossing in-game
Minecraft players have always impressed the game’s community with their fantastic builds. Players have come up with large-scale builds that take an immense amount of patience and hard work to pull through. They have built large cities, fictional counties, and even complicated computers that are functional.
Minecraft player and Redditor u/Obsidan_TNT shared some images on the game's subreddit. The images showed the famous Shibuya crossing in Japan built inside the game and rendered in Blender to give it a better look. This project is a part of the Build The Earth project where the community is making a 1:1 scale recreation of the entire earth inside Minecraft.
Reacting to this build, u/hmm69420hmm asked if there is any incident that has not taken place in the Shibuya district, referring to the popularity of this place in Japan. A lot of other media have portrayed many things happening in this particular area.
u/NeedleworkerNo5357 asked where Sukuna is when you need him, referencing the popular anime and manga series Jujutsu Kaisen. This was not the only reference to Jujutsu Kaisen as many other users mentioned the show. They also mentioned other Anime as well.
u/Damir512 asked the original poster to place a TNT block and blow it while saying “Domain Expansion,” a reference to Jujutsu Kaisen. Another user named u/Giorno_giovanan said this looks like Sukuna’s second time arriving.
u/Metrophidon9292 asked whether the last image features Anya from the Anime series Spy Family. The original poster said it was. This was a nice way of sneaking in some easter eggs in the Build The Earth project.
u/countjj asked what shaders were being used in these images. The original poster replied that it was Cycles. The commenter asked whether it was done in Blender or just the actual name of the shader used. The OP replied that they used Blender to make the images.
Build The Earth project in Minecraft
Some talented players have started an ambitious project of building the entire Earth on a 1:1 scale. This includes creating every major city, popular structures, and even all the houses there are in the world. This is a large-scale project that requires cooperation like no other. Despite thousands of players working on it, there is still a lot of ground to cover.
Recently, another player shared some images on the same subreddit showing how they built New York City in Minecraft as a part of this mammoth project. Those interested in building and being a part of it can sign up for it on the official website of Build The Earth.
