Minecraft fans should get ready for a horrifying Halloween this year

With Minecraft Live done and dusted, it is safe to say that players will have a lot of fun this Halloween. This is because Mojang is once again amping up the horror factor in the sandbox with the next update. With the introduction of the Pale Garden biome and Creaking mob, the developers have set the tone of how the next to next game drop will look.

If their development cycle moves swiftly, the community will witness a new horrifying creature by Halloween.

Creaking mob and Pale Garden could arrive in Minecraft snapshots and beta/previews during Halloween

The new scary mob and biome announced in Minecraft Live

On September 28, 2024, Mojang announced a brand new mob called the Creaking, which will only spawn in the new Pale Garden biome. Prior to this, Mojang officially posted a TikTok video on their official handle, barely showing a creature that had three yellow eyes vertically stacked on its face.

After the mob was fully revealed in the live event, it was also showcased in the developer after-show, where they talked more about it while roaming around in the new biome.

The new creaking mob is slightly taller than the player's in-game characters, and its texture closely matches the tree trunks in the Pale Garden biome. The mob's body is also covered with dead vines that are generated in the biome.

It was revealed that the new creature could not be killed by simply hitting it. Rather, it was connected to a new block called a creaking heart, which was a special wood log block that would generate deep in one of the trees in the Pale Garden.

Outlining the timeline of whether Creaking could arrive in snapshots around Halloween

Halloween is on October 31, nearly a month away from now. In Minecraft Live, Mojang developers confirmed that the new biome and mob will soon be featured in upcoming snapshots and beta/preview versions.

As of now, they are fully focused on bundles and hardcore mode on Bedrock Edition, which will be released with the next game drop, called Bundles of Bravery. Since the first game drop is not yet out, chances are that the Creaking and Pale Garden will release snapshots and beta/preview versions just in time for Halloween.

Their arrival in October end will be great since these brand-new features fit perfectly with the festival.

As for their official release in the second game drop, Mojang has not announced any set date for any game drop or snapshot drop whatsoever. They have only introduced all these new features and their update roadmap without any particulars.
