Minecraft fans want Mojang to add a sawmill
Minecraft gets updates throughout the year. The developers constantly work to improve the game by adding new content. Some new additions impress the players, while others fail to leave a mark. However, fans always want specific items to be added.
A Minecraft player and Reddit user named u/ChuchoChapin shared an image of the stonecutter block on the game's subreddit. The post's caption asked the community why Mojang Studios hasn’t added a woodcutter block, as the original poster is tired of wasting six planks to make four stair blocks.
The post description gave some detail on how the woodcutter could work. It stated that using this new block would reduce the cost of making wood items such as fences.
Reacting to this idea, user u/KnightArtorias1 said that adding this new block would be too much of a hassle, but a sawmill would work really well, especially if a carpenter villager is also added to the game. Another user, u/RaptorclawV7S, said that this item is literally the first thing on their Minecraft wish list.
User u/Yusuji039 wrote a lengthy comment saying that the logic Mojang Studios is going with could be that since wood comes from renewable sources as trees can be planted, there is no need to conserve a small amount of it. They stated that even if it’s true, the argument is quite weak.
User u/TheOneTheOnlyAssasin replied to the comment saying that stone is also renewable using the cobblestone generator, pointing out the presence of stonecutter in the game. Another user, named u/BoltWire, said that they see the point, but players do not come across a naturally spawned cobblestone generator during their gameplay.
One user, u/zeussays, explained that when a player breaks a tree, they get four planks per “breaking” or “mining.” This means that only two of these “breaking” processes are required to make wooden stairs.
However, to make the same amount of stone stairs, players need six cobblestone blocks. User u/Irish_pug_Player added that they do not want to get six slabs when they just need one.
Minecraft needs major updates
Minecraft's Bundles of Bravery update added two important things to the game: bundles and Hardcore mode for the game's Bedrock edition. Bundle is an interesting item as it expands the inventory and allows players to explore further by carrying more items with them. Since this item is dyeable, it also helps in inventory management.
However, players want something more substantial. For example, fans have been asking the developers to improve the End dimension, which has remained more or less the same over the years. The addition of more items or mobs in this desolate world would be a welcome change.
