Minecraft Live 2024: Everything confirmed so far
Mojang Studios is about to host their annual event where they talk about all their Minecraft games and work in the past year. They also celebrate the community and showcase various creators and fan-made clips, structures, and more. This year's live event, however, could be slightly different, especially since the developers themselves announced some changes prior to it.
Here is everything that has been confirmed by Mojang Studios about the upcoming Minecraft Live 2024.
Everything confirmed for the 2024 Minecraft Live event
New game drops
On the official website of the game, Mojang Studios recently explained their intentions to reorganize the current update cycle. A blog post was published a few days before they announced Minecraft Live 2024.
Previously, the creators often revealed a new update for Minecraft during their yearly live event in the second half of the year. After that, it was made available in the summer of next year.
These updates, which often add features to the game, will now occur more frequently and come in varying sizes. As a result, players should anticipate several updates rather than just one or two a year. The developers call these regular upgrades "game drops," and these were also mentioned in the official blog post for the upcoming live event.
Essentially, going forward, all significant improvements will be divided into manageable, incremental releases that happen all year long.
Hence, it is safe to say that Mojang Studios will surely talk about upcoming game drops that will contain features in bite-sized updates.
Another point that is worth noting is that Mojang Studios has also announced that they will split the live event itself into two parts. This means that two live events will be held in one year. The upcoming Minecraft Live, which takes place on September 28, 2024, will not reveal all the plans the developers have in store for the game.
Live showcase of new features
Apart from introducing some game drops, Mojang Studios also confirmed that after the live event, they will host an 'after party' in which developers will play with some new features and showcase them to the audience. During this time, they will dive deep into these additions, talking at length about their development and how they could help players when it gets released.
