Minecraft Pale Oak Wood guide: Location, blocks, and uses
Mojang Studios revealed a lot of interesting things about the upcoming Minecraft update during the Live event. The update, named “Bundles of Bravery”, adds some long-awaited bundles to the game, along with Hardcore mode to the Bedrock Edition. However, it was the announcement of the upcoming Pale Garden biome that stole the show.
The Pale Garden biome brings a new wood type called the Pale Oak wood, which features an interesting gameplay mechanic. This article will explain where the Pale Oak can be found, and what the uses of this new wood type are.
Minecraft gets new Pale Oak wood
Minecraft is getting a new wood type called Pale Oak wood, which can be obtained by breaking the Pale Oak tree. Mojang is working on making the overworld more complex with different areas to explore, and this announcement is a testament to the studio's efforts.
Fans who have wanted a white wood type can finally rejoice as the Pale Oak wood has a very distinctive desaturated look. It almost appears white, making it great for building projects.
Where is Pale Oak wood found?
The Pale Oak wood can be found in the Pale Garden biome, an upcoming biome in Minecraft. This biome can be found in the Overworld and locating it is quite easy. All you need to do is look for desaturated blocks and trees, with an almost monochrome appearance. Just make sure that you visit it during the day.
At night, the Pale Garden block becomes a hostile place as the Creaking mob spawns. Defeating it is quite challenging as it does not take any damage from direct hits. To kill the Creaking, you will need to find the Creaking heart inside the Pale Garden and destroy it.
Uses of Pale Oak wood
The Pale Oak wood is a very interesting item. Being a new type of wood, it can be used for building wood planks, fences, doors, and stairs, among many other things. Anything that can be made using normal oak wood (or any wood type for that matter), can be made using Pale Oak wood.
However, there is one thing that makes this new wood type different from the others. Along with the Pale Oak wood, the game is also getting the Creaking heart which can spawn the hostile Creaking mob. Players can obtain the Creaking heart using a pickaxe with the Silk Touch enchantment.
When the Creaking heart is placed between two Pale Oak wood blocks, it activates the heart. Activating the heart will spawn the Creaking mob.
