Minecraft player discovers a seed resembling the world map
Minecraft has a massive world, and many third-party services allow players to see the maps of their worlds. Recently, a Minecraft player and Reddit user named u/Kartoffelkrokette shared an interesting image on the title's subreddit.
The picture showed the seed map of the original poster’s game world. According to the player, the land masses look somewhat like the continents of Earth. The user said they could see North and South America on the left, and Africa, Asia, and part of Europe on the right. They also asked the community if other players could see it.
Reacting to the image, user u/Relevant-Ad4156 answered the question saying that they could, in fact, see it. Replying to this, the original poster also mentioned the seed of the Minecraft world so that other players could find it. The seed value is -3199347556214326987.
User u/KrazyKule213 said that the map did look close to the real world. However, according to them, Antarctica seemed like it was smashed with South Africa and North America was tilted. Even the landmass of Eurasia was way into the north.
User u/Onkivapa replied, saying that perhaps there is a world map that looks closer to the image shared. They explained how there are many versions of the world map because of the curvature of the planet. Another user, u/Oh_You_Were_Serious, joked that the multiverse was filled with different Minecraft seeds.
The jokes continued with user u/IceFire0518 saying that the way the caption was written, they thought it was a reference to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures. For those unaware, JJBA is a popular anime with a character called “The World.”
User u/sussynarrator thought along the same lines, calling the commenter “Iggy” as their profile picture featured the image of another character from the show. Another user named u/DanyGalaxy90 said that they looked hard to see if the image was of “Dio”, the antagonist of the anime.
The world generation of Minecraft
The blocky world of Minecraft can almost seem endless. The border of the game lies far ahead, and players would have to walk for years to reach it. This massive size is possible due to the title's generative nature of the game.
Everything that players interact with in the title is generated using an algorithm. An underlying structure also dictates world generation to ensure that everything makes sense.
