Minecraft released a new teaser ahead of the official trailer launch. This video took viewers on a deep dive into exclusive behind-the-scenes shots of the movie set, props and more. It featured major cast members talking about their experiences on set as well as providing a sneak peek into what fans and players of the sandbox can expect from the movie.
Here's everything spotted in the Minecraft movie trailer.
Minecraft movie teaser gives exclusive behind-the-scenes from upcoming movie
One of the opening shots of the teaser shows a quick but detailed view of what is presumably Steve's house. At the very center, the iconic crafting bench can be seen, with its set of symbolic tools adorning the side. Behind the bench, the wall is decked with different tiers of gold and diamond tools, as well as a row of swords in the background.
The other room is lit by a glass window, which paints some light on a lectern with a book upon it. Just next to it is a huge storage area with a row of TNT on top and some knick knacks below it. The familiar setting of the items and blocks makes it feel like the viewers have logged into their world rather than looking at a screen.
The next scene depicts Jens Bergensten, the co-creator of Minecraft, talking about the game and interacting with the lever, one of the most popular redstone devices used in builds like the Nether portal switch. He talks about the creative vision of the movie and provides an insight into what the film aims for.
The camera pans to a shot of the set, where viewers get the first glimpse of the indoor shooting arena. The familiar block-shaped cherry blossom trees alongside flowering blocks like azaleas can be seen in the shot. The highly detailed foliage faithfully represents the world that players encounter in-game.
This is followed by a brief depiction of the underground caves and mountainous structures. The familiar torch lightens up the dark arena and sheds light on the well-known cobblestone and stone blocks, a fan-favorite for every player who has just begun upgrading their weapons and tools..
This is perhaps one of the most significant shots since it provides a closeup of the storage area seen in the first shot. This behind-the-scenes of the Minecraft movie shows how tastefully crafted the TNT bricks are. This is paired with the potion bottle, books, and the painting on the wall. A few candles light up the scenery and highlight the attention to detail in the movie.
The next shot pans to a wide-angle shot from the set of A Minecraft movie. The huge and extensive sets being built can only mean that viewers are in for a treat with scenes depicting Steve's house or other player-built structures shown in the film. Steve's house can also be spotted in the distance.
This is a really interesting shot since it sheds light on the visual style of minerals and items like diamonds, as well as provides viewers a closeup to Steve's look and style in the movie. The background hints at a mine, with blocks of diamonds and stone embedded in the walls.
This close-up of Steve highlights many hidden details in plain sight. Steve's sword features the iconic pixellated design—staying true to the visual style of the game. Additionally, the storage unit contains popular items, such as fireworks, a Jack-o-lantern, rows of potion bottles and even a telescope.
This shot of Steve's house depicts one of the most basic builds of a house that players build when they want to protect themselves from their first night in the game. The block-shaped theme is evident from the cutout of the windows and the walls. Additionally, it also features a fence that states: Steve's House.
This is one of the most interesting sections of the Minecraft movie teaser since this gives viewers and players a first look at a village in Minecraft. The rows of houses are accompanied by a common area similar to a town hall. Moss and vines have crawled up the blocks, and familiar lanterns and fences can be seen as far as the eye can see.
This behind-the-scenes shot might seem like a regular angle of Steve's room, but it hides a few interesting easter eggs. Apart from the glowing object in the middle, which is probably a part of the plot, the storage area also holds a unique pair of shoes with wings on it—hinting at a new kind of item or gear that will be shown in the movie.
This shot depicts two popular items from the vast repository in Minecraft—the Totem of Undying, one of the best methods of healing in Minecraft and an iron pickaxe above a common chest. These items could play a major role in the movie or just blend in as part of the set decorations.
The next shot depicts a classic smelting and smithing farm in Minecraft—row upon row of furnaces with chests full of coal on the right to power them. The crafting table in the middle adds to the visual beauty of the shot, while the array of gold and silver swords hint at the fact that Steve has been in this world for quite some time.

Viewers also got a sneak peek into the development process of the props on set. It depicted the block-shaped trees, fruits, items and resources that all come together to form the vast pixellated universe across decades.
The team behind A Minecraft movie had stated that player feedback constituted a major part of the development of the game, and the teaser featured some of the most popular streamers and gamers like Aphmau, DanTDM, LDShadowLady and Mumbo Jumbo.
A Minecraft movie is set to release on April 4, 2025, in theatres globally. Players will have to wait and see what the team and the stellar cast of Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers and more have in store for them.
