Minecraft's keep inventory feature in easy and peaceful mode could make teleportation feature more popular

Mojang recently introduced a notable change to the easy and peaceful modes in the latest Minecraft Bedrock Edition beta/preview 1.21.50.20. In this version, the developers have ensured the keep inventory feature is available to players without them having to use cheats. This allows gamers to retain their inventory and experience points even after dying.

While this feature isn’t new, its addition to easy and peaceful modes could make existing teleportation tricks more common and widely used. If this feature remains in the official release, players may embrace this convenient trick more frequently for fast travel in survival mode. Previously, players could only use the keep inventory feature by changing the "keepinventory" gamerule using cheats.

Note: This article is subjective and solely reflects the writer's opinion. Furthermore, this particular feature is in the beta stage, and Mojang could make changes or revert it back as well.

Details about peaceful and easy modes having to keep inventory and experience feature

When a player dies in Minecraft survival mode, they either respawn at a respawn anchor, next to a bed, or in the world spawn area. Nevertheless, every block and item in their inventory is dropped at the location of their death. They also lose all of their experience points and have to start from scratch.

However, in the most recent beta/preview version 1.21.50.20, Mojang made a tweak that allows players to retain experience points and goods in their inventory, even after they respawned in the easy and peaceful game modes. Now, the armor, weapons, tools, and other equipment players had before they perished will not be lost after they die.

This will massively alter players' exploration and overall experience of the game, particularly in easy mode, where they may die from hostile mob attacks but with nearly no consequences.

Since there is no major consequence of dying in easy or peaceful mode, players could simply find a way to perish and be teleported to their bases. This could see the teleportation feature become more popular.

Returning from exploration can be quite tricky in Minecraft since players can wander around for thousands of blocks and find it difficult to trace their path back to base. Furthermore, if they die normally, they lose their inventory and experience, after which they return to their last respawn point.

With the new change introduced by Mojang, gamers can easily die and respawn in a safe area without the need to manually travel back. They can jump off a high ground, burn in lava, or be eaten by hostile mobs for their amusement and return to the base without losing anything.
