Minecraft's next big update, Chase the Skies, arrives on June 17, 2025. With less than a week left for the game drop to arrive on all supported devices, players are excited to get their hands on the array of features set to arrive.

One of the highlights of the game is the happy ghast, a new mob that will allow players to fly and travel, reinventing transportation in the game. It can accommodate up to four players, making it a great asset for multiplayer sessions in Realms and custom servers.

Apart from that, Vibrant Visuals is another core aspect of the upcoming Minecraft update. It is the biggest visual rework to the game in decades, adding shader-like enhancements and introducing features such as volumetric fog, directional lighting, improved reflections, and more. Additionally, it is set to be the default style in the game, allowing gamers to try this refreshed look with ease.

Blending in seamlessly with Vibrant Visuals, the drop will also introduce new fog mechanics, allowing gamers to utilise the visual enhancements on a deeper level. It will now be foggier when it rains, adding to the realism. Paired with the new environmental and render-distance-based generation, it is a truly immersive change to make fog look more realistic.

Alongside these major features, the leads have received a major quality-of-life update, allowing players to leash multiple mobs together or to each other. The revamped recipe for making leads without the need for slime also makes it much more accessible, allowing gamers to use the binding properties with ease. Gamers can also tie the new happy ghast mob to fences or posts, making it a nifty feature.

The player locator bar in the upcoming Chase the Skies drop will also add a major new dimension of functionality to the game, introducing a locator bar to the existing HUD.

This bar will replace the default XP bar when one or more players join the world or session. The system will feature a colored marker for each player present in that session, making it a great way to locate teammates or reach their positions in the world.

Saddles will also receive fresh changes, allowing players to finally craft this essential item, making it significantly easier to obtain rather than stumbling across it or procuring it through trade. Saddles, carpets, and horse armor can also be removed from the mobs by using shears on them. This makes it easier for gamers to swap the saddles on mobs or remove them.

Apart from these features, players can expect an array of modifications and tuning to enhance the gameplay experience.
