New Minecraft resin block might be a good alternative to scaffolding

New resin blocks will soon arrive in Minecraft with its upcoming winter drop. The features of this update have already landed in the latest snapshots and beta/preview versions. Resin is a brand new material added to the sandbox with the new Pale Garden biome. This material is also connected with the new Creaking mob, which players have to fight to get.

The new resin material can be converted into blocks that players can use. Soon after it was out in snapshots, the players discovered that the blocks made from it could act as an alternative to scaffolding. Here's how.

Reason why block of resin can be a good alternative to scaffolding in Minecraft?

Blocks of resin can instantly break

A block of resin is a regular full solid block that can be placed normally. Since it is a full solid block, players can step on it by jumping and start towering up with it.

When players are in survival mode, different types of blocks take different times to break, even with their respective mining tools. For example, stone block can be mined a lot quicker than obsidian with a pickaxe. The mining speed depends on the type of block, the tool used by players and any special enchantment of effect on the tool or the player respectively.

When the block of resin is concerned, it can break instantly without any tool and drop itself as a block. This means that players do not need any special tool, effect or enchantment to break a block of resin and drop it as it is.

Users can tower up or place blocks of resin anywhere to climb and break the block instantly with their bare hands. This is what makes blocks of resin a great alternative to scaffolding, which is primarily used to construct massive structures.

Blocks of resin are even better than dirt blocks, another commonly used scaffolding block, just because of their mining time.

How to get resin and craft blocks of resin

First, players need to know how they can get resin from Pale Garden. To get the new material, they need to enter the new biome at night when the new Creaking mob will spawn with its creaking heart block.

Once the wood-like creature spawns, players must find it and start hitting it. Though the mob will not take any damage and simply receive energy from its creaking heart block, resin clumps will start forming on pale oak blocks that are adjacent to the creaking heart block.

When the Creaking is hit, the particles will give a hint of the creaking's heart's location. They can head to the tree where the heart block is to notice that resin clumps have formed. To get more resin clumps, players can keep hitting the wood-like creature, forcing its heart to secrete more. Finally, the Creaking can be killed by destroying the heart block.

Resin clumps on the pale oak trees can be obtained by breaking them with bare hands. After this, players can make a block of resin by placing nine resin clumps on a crafting table. After obtaining a block of resin, it can be used as scaffolding.
