New Minecraft snapshot adds Pale Garden, Creaking, and more
Minecraft players who have been eagerly waiting for the upcoming new biome called the Pale Garden and its inhabitant, the Creaking, can finally try these features. Mojang Studios has released the Snapshot 24w40a which adds everything that was announced during the Minecraft Live event a few days ago.
Apart from the fresh mob and the biome, players will also find new items such as the pale oak trees, hanging moss, and the Creaking heart.
Here’s everything we know about the snapshot.
Minecraft snapshot 24w40a adds new features
It was during Minecraft Live when Mojang Studios announced the Bundles of Bravery update. This update finally added the much-awaited bundles to the game, as well as the Hardcore mode to the Bedrock edition.
That said, it was the announcement of a new mob in a fresh biome that excited most of the players. While the final release date for these features has not been announced, the developers have released the snapshot just around four days after the event.
Officially called the “Winter Drop,” this snapshot adds the Pale Garden biome. It can be found in the overworld. As the name suggests, it has a very pale and desaturated look to it. Populating it is the newly-added pale oak tree, which brings a new wood type of the same name.
The new Creaking mob
The Pale Garden has just one inhabitant mob; the Creaking. This hostile mob only comes out at night. No animal mob spawns naturally in the Pale Garden. The Creaking only attacks the player when the player is not looking at it. So, to avoid dealing damage, players need to maintain eye contact.
That said, just with eye contact and attacking with weapons will do no good. The Creaking does not take any damage. To defeat this dangerous mob, players need to find the Creaking heart inside the pale forest and destroy it. As of this writing, this is the only way of killing the Creaking.
That’s not all. Players can use tools with the Silk Touch enchantment to break the Creaking heart block. This block can be placed between two pale oak wood blocks in any biome to spawn the Creaking.
Other items in the snapshot
Apart from these two, Mojang Studios has also added hanging moss which can be used to make moss carpets. The Pale Garden gets new ambient sounds specifically designed to make it more eerie and scary.
The update can be downloaded via the Minecraft Launcher. Once installed, players can turn on the “Winter Drop” option in the Experiment screen when creating the world.
