A Minecraft Movie scenes shared, reveals story and character details
The end of Minecraft Live gave fans a glimpse of the upcoming live-action movie, and it showed some interesting aspects of the movie's plot and character details. This sneak peek also revealed why Jason Momoa's character looks so out of place. The director of the movie, Jared Hess mentioned why he added new elements in the movie that do not exist in the game.
The new scene with character interactions sheds light on a misunderstood part from the teaser trailer. This article will look into various aspects of the new Minecraft movie scenes that were discussed at the event.
Minecraft Live reveals new scene from the live-action movie
The teaser trailer for the upcoming Minecraft movie did not get too much love from the fans as many of them pointed out how it looked bizarre and uncanny. Since this was the first look at the movie, not much was revealed about the characters. However, the MC Live event had a section showing some plot details and character backstories.
In this segment, director Jared Hess mentioned a few things about Garret played by Jason Momoa. He will be a character who is completely unaware of the game and how everything works in it. He is someone who is still stuck in the 80s which explains his peculiar clothes. According to Hess, “Garret is the noob” in the movie.
The event also showed a scene from the movie that shows character interaction. The clip shows Steve, played by Jack Black, and the other characters how crafting works by making an iron sword. Seeing this, Garret tries to do something of his own by placing different items in the crafting grid and crafting two buckets joined by a chain link.
The twin buckets scene
The twin buckets came into being after Garret placed anything he found in the crafting grid. This, combined with the director's explanation of his backstory explains how the movie has an item that does not exist in the game.
The scene also shows some other in-game items in the movie such as the lectern, blast furnace, TNT blocks, and other tools. The makers of the movie also mentioned why they added a hammer in the movie as there are no hammers in the game. Since there is no animation showing how things are crafted, the use of a hammer fills the gap.
A Minecraft Movie is scheduled to release on April 4, 2025 in the US. It stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Sebastian Hansen, and Emma Myers.
