"That's clearly a real-life photo!": Minecraft fan creates realistic landscapes leaving community amazed
Minecraft has remained largely relevant for over 15 years, with one of the reasons being that it offers players limitless possibilities. One can build anything in the game, ranging from fictional cities with complicated highway networks to large Gothic castles complete with intricately designed interiors. Now, one more item has been added to this ever-growing list of brilliant builds.
A Minecraft player and Reddit user named octavian_world shared some images on the game's subreddit, showing how they built an entire mountain landscape that covers thousands of blocks between two cities. They also mentioned how it took them over a year to complete besides sharing some other interesting details.
Reacting to the build, user u/zMaximumz jokingly commented:
“Haha nice try, that's clearly a real-life photo!”
They added that the build was amazing. Another user named u/OhNoExlaimationMark also commented, saying they thought it was a real-life picture:
User u/Western-Victory-7414 said that if the original poster did not use World Edit, this is an insane build, adding that it was even without any third-party tools.
User u/TTungsteNN said that if these structures were made in the Vanilla version of the game without any tools, it would be unbelievable:
Another user, u/sinces, said that this was likely made using World Painter or perhaps an enhanced edition of it and maybe even World Edit, as some patterns in the terrains indicate the use of such tools. They then applauded the work done by the OP.
User u/hpandlotrrules joked that the original poster was trying to trick everyone by taking pictures of real hills with a drone and calling them in-game pictures. Meanwhile, user u/AnonymousFluffy923 asked the OP to make their own Minecraft movie to which another user u/theRealLemmlinghunta agreed.
Mountain build in Minecraft
This is not the first time someone has built a large structure, or even a mountain for that matter. Recently, another player shared some images showing how they created a 1:2 scale model of Mount Everest in the game. While the scale was impressive, there were other qualities of the build that stole the spotlight.
The replica was made very accurately in terms of the placement of other structures found in the real mountain. This allowed other players to download the map and explore it. They can also climb the mountain in-game.
