What is the most difficult block to craft in Minecraft?
Players have wondered about the most difficult block to craft in Minecraft for a while. The difficulty lies not only in obtaining it but also in crafting these blocks. While some blocks might take a while to obtain, others require extensive mining and exploring—making Netherite the hardest block to craft in the game.
Read on to find out why Netherite is considered the most difficult block to craft in Minecraft.
What is the most difficult block to craft in Minecraft?
Netherite is the most difficult block to craft in Minecraft since the materials required are extremely rare and take a considerable amount of time to obtain. To craft a block of Netherite, you must obtain Netherite ingots, one of the hardest items to craft in-game.
The netherite ingot requires netherite scraps, which can only be crafted by smelting ancient debris, one of the rarest resources in the nether region. What makes it even more rare and difficult to attain is the fact that the netherite scraps are non-renewable and do not regenerate.
Ancient debris is usually found between Y level 8-15 in the nether region and in the occasional chest within the bastion remnants. This block is extremely difficult to find due to its scarcity and unpredictable spawning radius. Thus, obtaining all of these resources to craft netherite easily makes it the most difficult block to craft in Minecraft.

How to craft a block of Netherite in Minecraft?
To craft a block of Netherite in Minecraft, you will need nine netherite ingots. Crafting the netherite ingots is what makes it one of the most difficult blocks in the game.
Here's how you can craft a block of Netherite in Minecraft:
1) Obtain netherite Ingot
Before you craft the ingot, you will need to obtain the following items:
- 4 netherite scraps
- 4 gold ingots
If you do not have netherite scraps, you can obtain them by smelting ancient debris. You can find this block in the nether region or chests within the bastion remnants. Once obtained, place a block to receive one netherite scrap.
To craft a netherite ingot, you need to place four netherite scraps and four gold ingots on the crafting bench. You can place them in any order since there's no specific format.
Thus, to craft the nine netherite ingots, you will need 36 netherite scraps. You can obtain the required number of scraps by obtaining and smelting 36 blocks of ancient debris.
Finding the required number of ancient debris blocks is a real challenge and will take a while since you must brave the dangers of the nether region and mine endlessly to find it. The effort taken to craft the ingredients required to make the item ranks it as the most difficult block to craft in Minecraft.

2) Place netherite ingots
Once crafted, you must place nine netherite ingots on the crafting bench to obtain one block of netherite. You can place them in any format since the blocks will fill the grid of the crafting bench.
Once the block is crafted, take it from the crafting table and place it in your inventory. The block of netherite is a great way to store the ingots compactly and save crucial storage space. A block of this item contains enough netherite to upgrade a full set of diamond armor and five diamond weapons or tools, making it a powerful resource to get your hands on.
