Which Minecraft mobs can teleport?
In Minecraft, certain mobs can teleport. While all entities can be teleported through commands, some have this ability within their feature set itself. They can either teleport entirely on their own or can be linked with the player's movement or actions. They can do so both away and toward the player.
Here are some mobs that can teleport in Minecraft.
Minecraft mobs with the ability to teleport
Enderman
Arguably the most popular mob in Minecraft that can teleport is the Enderman. It is a mysterious neutral mob that roams around all three realms of the game. It is a tall, pitch-black figure that looks awfully like the player's in-game character. It has purple eyes and distorted sound which somewhat sounds like a normal human voice.
If players notice an Enderman's movement without making them angry by looking directly at them, they will see that the creature randomly teleports from one place to another.
Another scenario when an Enderman teleports is when they are being attacked by a player or a mob, or they are in some sort of danger from natural causes like rain or suffocation.
These mobs can only teleport a few blocks away from where they were.
Tamed pets
Another set of mobs that can teleport to the player are tamed pets in Minecraft. These include wolves, cats, and parrots. When these mobs are tamed by feeding them certain items, they will follow players anywhere they go, as long as they are in a standing state. When sitting, they cannot move until they are manually pushed.
While standing, they will walk or fly towards the player as the player moves. However, if they are too far from their master, the game automatically teleports them to their master. For example, if a dog is swimming slowly and its master finds a landmass, it will directly be teleported to that landmass.
As mentioned previously, these apply to wolves, cats, and parrots. However, this does not apply to horses and other mobs that can be tamed.
Shulkers
While shulkers might look like they are the most stationary mob in the entire game, they too can move through teleportation. These hostile mobs are found in End Cities in the End realm. Since the dimension is all about teleportation technology, even these boxed-up creatures have the ability to quickly move from one block to another.
When a shulker is hit and has less than half its health remaining, there is a 25% chance that it will teleport anywhere in a 17x17x17 cuboid area. When it does so, a new shulker spawns where the old one was.
