Which mobs do you need to kill to beat Minecraft?

When players first spawn in Minecraft, they are presented with an almost endless in-game map with different biomes to explore and mobs to kill. Apart from treating the title as a sandbox where one's able to build whatever they desire, players can also choose to experience the game's storyline. This will have them travel across the map, engaging mobs in combat before defeating the main boss, the Ender Dragon.

However, if all one wants is to complete the story, they can do so just by defeating two mobs: Blaze and Ender Dragon. Hence, many speedrunners only kill these two mobs to complete the game's story within minutes.

If a player's primary goal is to finish Minecraft's plot as fast as possible, they want to reach the End realm while using the fewest resources feasible to defeat the Ender Dragon.

To reach the End, players will need Eyes of Ender, which are made from ender pearls and blaze rods. Enderman drops ender pearls when they are slain, but they may also be acquired in the Nether by bartering gold with piglins. When players find gold in the Bastion Remnant structure, they can rush to exchange it with piglins and get ender pearls.

Blaze is the only non-boss creature that players must eliminate because they drop blaze rods, which are necessary to craft the Eyes of Ender.

Blazes are found in Nether Fortresses. Though some of them do not drop blaze rods, more will keep spawning from their respective spawner blocks.

Ender Dragon

In order to finish the story, players must kill the last boss mob, the Ender Dragon. The End is the third and final dimension, where this beast resides. This realm can be accessed by a special End portal that is located in one of the strongholds. This portal can be located using the Eyes of Ender as they float towards the stronghold when thrown up in the air.

Moreover, once the portal room is located, the Eyes of Ender must be placed on the portal to activate it.

The battle with the Ender Dragon starts as soon as players step inside the End realm. The boss mob can be defeated in a few different ways. Weapons such as swords, axes, and arrows are available to players, as is the well-known bed explosion strategy. In the End realm, beds explode when they are used, similar to how they react in the Nether.

Players can set up beds and then use them to produce a huge explosion when the dragon perches down on the bedrock fountain in the center of the main End island. The explosion will do enormous amounts of damage when compared to mere swords and axes.

After the Ender Dragon is slain, the bedrock fountain in the middle of the End Island will change into an end portal, allowing players to return to the Overworld and complete the game's story.
