"WHY DIDNT WE HAVE THIS?": Fan-made Minecraft movie poster sparks demand for animated film over live-action

A Minecraft Movie is one of the most anticipated movies, especially for those who have been waiting for the game adaptation for years. The movie features some big names such as Jack Black and Jason Momoa. However, the release of the teaser trailer has left many fans disappointed mostly because of the makers’ decision to go with live-action instead of a fully animated movie.

Pressing on this very vein, a Minecraft player and Reddit user named umped made a poster for the movie, but instead of going with real people as cast members, they made their animated versions. Not only that, but they also added other elements from the movie, such as piglins flying using ghasts, the nether portal on top of the arch, etc.

Awestruck by this image, user KairuHiroshima commented:

“ITS SO BEAUTIFUL AND COLORFUL WHY DIDNT WE HAVE THIS.”

User SpongeBoy775089 simply exclaimed 'Corporate greed' as the reason why Warner Bros did not make it a fully animated movie and rather cast popular actors to be a part of it.

Another user named whythelongface133 said that it was not even corporate greed but rather corporate laziness and almost no respect for the source material, owing to the differences between the game and the movie trailer.

User FilipRedi said that the poster looked good to which user its0slimey_ replied that this was much better than what fans got from Warner Bros. The_gamer_guy_ also resonated with the same thought. However, user just_4_r4nd0m_guy was a huge fan of the artwork and exclaimed how it would look great as a room poster.

User ReverendDizzle wrote a lengthy comment expressing their concerns with the movie. They said that the idea of going with a live-action Minecraft film that is based on a game felt baffling.

They also stated the abundant videos showing different Minecraft animation styles, which Warner Bros could have just used to their advantage, along with the current cast for the voice acting and made the entire movie animated.

Fans are disappointed with Steve's look in The Minecraft movie

Players who have been waiting for The Minecraft Movie are not very happy with how things are turning out. There are many things that fans are pointing out that look off in the trailer, out of which Jack Black's look as Steve is the most prominent one. Steve has short hair with a goatee, while Jack Black can be seen with his long hair and salt and pepper beard, which breaks the immersion completely.

While there's a bit of optimism regarding how this is only a temporary look, with the possibility of some cosmetic tweaks happening later in the movie; that remains speculation as of now.
