Why you shouldn't feel guilty about using cheats in Minecraft

In Minecraft, you can start a new survival world and progress by gathering resources, killing mobs, and getting stronger gear. You need to do everything within certain rules of the survival world in mind. However, the sandbox game also has an official way to turn on cheats. Through this, you can enter commands to get almost anything and go anywhere without worrying about dying.

The topic of using cheats in a survival world has been debated for a long time, especially since it isn't technically illegal and can be toggled through the game itself. One could argue that there's no need to feel guilty about using cheats in Minecraft.

Cheating in Minecraft is no reason to feel too guilty

No harm done to anyone in single-player worlds

If you're using in-game cheats in a single-player survival world, you're essentially not harming anyone else's experience. This is a much more serious offense when one does so in multiplayer scenarios. Cheating in competitive games is severely punished during tournaments and even by game companies.

In Minecraft, however, the game readily offers cheats, and since it can be turned on in single-player worlds, it will never hurt anyone else's experience.

The line between having fun and getting frustrated while playing

Feeling guilty while cheating in Minecraft can be discussed in a broader light. As a gamer, there will be times when you either have fun grinding and working hard in a game or are frustrated by it a bit too much.

The important thing to remember during this time is that games are purely for having fun and not getting frustrated. Hence, if you feel like you aren't enjoying a certain stage of the game, and it can be resolved with cheats, use it without feeling remorse. This is because games shouldn't feel like a burden or too much of a challenge.

Cheats are readily available during the new world creation

Another major reason you shouldn't feel guilty for cheating in Minecraft is that the game offers you an option to enable cheats right in the beginning. Many games are completely against them, but single-player games, particularly Minecraft, readily allow them since players can have fun with them and use them productively.

When you create a new world, you will receive an option to enable cheats or commands, through which you can do almost anything in the game.

Alternate to cheating: Creating backups of survival worlds

If you're still reluctant to cheat in Minecraft but don't want to get stuck at a point and get frustrated, you can create regular backups of the same world. This will act as the last saved file of the game, through which you can return to the starting point of a particular quest or a journey if you fail.

Many players create backups of the survival worlds before a major fight or an expedition. This way, you don't need to cheat if you die or fail to perform a certain task.
