You can find many buildings in a village, from the potion brewing house to the library. However, you will be hard-pressed to come across any useful items to loot until you visit the blacksmith's house. This house can be considered the best building in the village since it has useful loot that is easily accessible.
To find this house, just look for a building that has a furnace and a small lava reserve. Once you find it, go inside and look for a chest. This chest is almost always filled with something useful, including weapons, armor, and even diamonds. In fact, there is a good 16.2% chance of finding diamonds in the blacksmith house’s chest in both the Bedrock and Java editions of the game.
Apart from the diamonds, there is still a good chance you will find gold ingots, iron ingots, iron swords, pickaxes, etc. No matter what you find here, it will always be worth it as it does not require fighting dangerous mobs or risking your life. All you need to do is just walk in and steal whatever the blacksmith has in their chest.
Finding a village is also quite easy, as you just need to explore for a bit. The more villages you find, the more blacksmith houses you will get to loot. Of course, you cannot find any heavy core blocks here, but getting diamonds and iron weapons or tools easily can be truly helpful.
