Why Minecraft fans might feel dissatisfied with Pale Garden

Mojang will soon release the new Pale Garden biome with Minecraft's upcoming Winter drop. This will be a brand new Overworld biome that will have a new wood type and a unique new hostile mob called Creaking. Players were excited to see the Pale Garden when it was first introduced. However, an argument can be made that the new biome might not be too exciting due to several reasons.

Here are some reasons why the player base might feel dissatisfied with it.

Reasons why Minecraft Pale Garden might be unimpressive to the player base

Pale Garden might feel like a retexture of Dark Oak Forest

When Pale Garden was released in snapshots and beta/preview versions, many players were quick to notice that the new biome looks awfully similar to the Dark Oak Forest biome. This Dark Oak region has been in the game for many years and contains dense trees with thick trunks and wide leaf coverage. The only major difference between the two biomes was the existence of Creaking and the overall color change.

After players noticed the similarities, they criticized Mojang for simply retexturing and recoloring an existing biome.

Even though Pale Garden offers a new wood color, Creaking mob, and new resin blocks, the biome visually looks similar.

Mojang keeps adding features to one dimension and not the other

Pale Garden might also not be liked by the player base because it is yet another Overworld biome.

Soon after the Nether update in 2019, Mojang announced that the Overworld would undergo significant alterations in future updates. In the Caves and Cliffs update, the developer unveiled loads of features, so much so that they had to divide it into two parts.

Subsequently, The Wild and Trails and Tales updates arrived, introducing even more mobs, world generation changes, buildings, and blocks to the Overworld. Tricky Trials update and further smaller game drops also focused on the first dimension as well.

Many in the community have been waiting for an End update, but they have constantly received updates for the Overworld. Hence, the frustration could trickle down to the new biome that will soon be added with the Winter drop.
