5 times Conor McGregor called someone out in 2024 that wasn't Michael Chandler (feat. Logan Paul)
Conor McGregor is a peculiar individual who greatly values his self-determination and agency. 2024 was yet another year wherein he demonstrated that, calling out numerous fighters besides Michael Chandler, who he was previously scheduled to face at UFC 303.
Unfortunately, a broken toe forced the Irishman to withdraw from the bout, sidelining him for the rest of the year, with his return now projected for late 2025. According to McGregor, his first MMA fight since 2021 will be preceded by an exhibition boxing match with Logan Paul.
However, he isn't the only fighter McGregor has challenged this year that wasn't Chandler. Truthfully, there have been several.
#5. Conor McGregor challenged Floyd Mayweather Jr. to a BKFC fight
Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have history. In fact, the pair had a widely publicized boxing match in 2017. Unfortunately for 'The Notorious,' he was handed a 10th round TKO loss and hasn't returned to boxing since, but McGregor spent years campaigning for a rematch.
This year, during fight week for BKFC on DAZN 1, the former UFC double champion took part in an interview with JNMEDIAUK's Jamal Niaz, during which he called Mayweather out again when asked who he wants to fight next.
"Floyd, you little p***ycat! You're back doing conversations, trying to get a boxing match at 155! Fight me, my weight! I'm the A-side! [Unintelligible] Bareknuckle! McGregor-Mayweather! 170 pounds, let's go, baby! Take off the gloves and fight, b*tch!"

While Mayweather has taken part in various exhibitions since his retirement fight against McGregor, it's unlikely he'll accept a bareknuckle boxing match.
#4. Conor McGregor eyed a two-fight deal with Terence Crawford
In late 2024, 'The Notorious' took part in a livestream with Duelbits, during which he revealed his interest in a two-fight deal proposed to him by Turki Alalshikh. The deal entailed one fight in MMA and another in boxing, with his opponent being pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford.
"Crawford is very slick. He also has a wrestling pedigree. So you know they're always talking to me about bouts. I've already boxed a boxer, you want me to [fight] a boxer in MMA. I generate the most. So we're talking back-and-forth, it's a two-fight deal."

Ultimately, Crawford declined the offer, stating that he had no interest in being kicked and elbowed in an MMA bout.
#3. Conor McGregor claims he'll box Logan Paul in 2025
As 2024 entered its final month, Conor McGregor stunned the combat sports world by revealing that the rumors of him fighting UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria were false, and that he will instead be boxing WWE Superstar Logan Paul in an exhibition bout in India at the request of the billionaire Ambani family.
"The rumors of a bout with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon."
It was an astonishing claim, as McGregor has been historically dismissive of the influencer boxing side of the sport.
#2. Conor McGregor calls out Dan Hooker
Following the conclusion of the BKFC on DAZN 1 event in Marbella, Spain, where he called out Floyd Mayweather Jr., 'The Notorious' also issued a challenge to fellow UFC lightweight Dan Hooker, saying as much to BloodyElbow when asked for a date and opponent for his octagon return.
"February 1st, Saudi Arabia! Dan Hooker!"

Naturally, Hooker himself was mutually interested in fighting McGregor, sharing his thoughts on the bout in a sitdown with Submission Radio. Unfortunately for McGregor, he was not scheduled to fight on any of the UFC's early 2025 cards and is expected to return much later in the coming year.
#1. Conor McGregor challenged UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad to a title fight
It comes as little surprise that Conor McGregor and Belal Muhammad have a great deal of animosity toward each other. After all, the Irishman is a hated rival of the welterweight champion's friend and coach, Khabib Nurmagomedov. So, during his previously mentioned Duelbits stream, he called Muhammad out.
"Oh, he's woeful. I wanna fight him. Let's schedule... okay, Chandler's matched. Belal-McGregor, UFC welterweight world title fight on the line. I've knockouts, multiple knockouts at 170. I'm a force to be reckoned with at 170. I do damage at 170."

The bout, though, never came to fruition, and McGregor's future in the sport remains uncertain, especially following his recent legal trouble. Even Michael Chandler, who was once desperate to face him, seems to have moved on and has expressed interest in several other fighters.
