Aljamain Sterling gets brutally 'ratioed' by a user on Instagram
Aljamain Sterling recently tried to get some clarity on the news surrounding the cancelation of Paulo Costa vs. Robert Whittaker. Unfortunately, his efforts to find out the legitimacy of the news source resulted in Sterling being mercilessly 'ratioed' by a fan.
The term 'ratio' originated in the Twitterverse and refers to anytime a reply to a tweet receives more likes than the original tweet.
Since its announcement in October, the fight between Whittaker and Costa had been eagerly anticipated. But 'The Reaper' posted a video online confirming that the fight would not take place.
MMA news account @homeoffight posted that Costa had refused the fight due to the purse offered to him by the UFC.

Aljamain Sterling then commented the following on the post:
"Do you guys actually verify this type of information before putting it out? Seriously wondering, because if you’re not doing that, you risk losing all credibility of this account. I’d try to make sure the sources of this type of post is air tight."
Instagram user @_elkassar responded to the bantamweight champion with the following:
"@funkmastermma bro somebody verify your last 3 wins"

'Funk Master' has been out of favor with fans since his disqualification victory against Petr Yan at UFC 259. Despite being brutally kneed in the head, many felt he feigned a severe concussion to win the belt in a fight where he was comprehensively losing.
Sterling had a far more impressive performance against Yan in their rematch at UFC 273 and earned his victory that night. But his recent win against T.J. Dillashaw, who carried a debilitating shoulder injury into the fight, appears to have fans thinking that 'Funk Master' is yet to face a real challenge.
Aljamain Sterling comments on Bryce Mitchell's possible retirement
Bryce Mitchell suffered the first loss of his career in brutal fashion against Ilia Topuria at UFC 282 on December 10. Mitchell was submitted in the second round but absorbed plenty of damage of the feet prior to being stopped.
In the UFC's behind-the-scenes footage, called The Thrill & The Agony, following the pay-per-view event , 'Thug Nasty' stated that he is not sure if he wants to continue fighting. An article containing the footage was posted on Twitter by @mmamania, which Aljamain Sterling then quote-tweeted.
'Funk Master' stated the following:
"It’s a painful sport we “play” in. Sometimes we’re the hammer and sometimes we are the nail. Heal up, relax, reflect, and hopefully we see you again in the octagon, Bryce."
