Aljamain Sterling unleashed scathing attack on Henry Cejudo after he showed up late for interview for Daniel Cormier

Aljamain Sterling issued a warning to Henry Cejudo as the two continue to ramp up the promotion of their upcoming title fight in the main event of UFC 288.

Sterling and Cejudo appeared on DC and RC on ESPN MMA's YouTube channel, where Daniel Comier mediated an interview and asked the two competitors their thoughts on the upcoming title fight.

The reigning bantamweight champion mentioned that he is confident that he will defeat the former two-division champion and remind him why he retired three years ago.

He said:

"He actually got serious for once and entered the USADA pool...Now now you're in the game again. Now you have to fight the real competitors in this weight class and I'm going to remind you why you retired in the first place. I cannot wait to slap that stupid grin off your face, bro, I really can't wait." [2:30 - 2:58]

'FunkMaster' didn't take too kindly to 'Triple C' looking past him and referring to him as an easy fight. He mentioned that he has different strategies to defeat the former two-division champion and intends to finish him, saying:

"Dude, you're in for a big surprise...I like your resume, I like the things you've accomplished, but you are so far ahead of yourself...And I can't wait to prove to you that you are human, you can bleed, and I'm gonna do the same thing 'Mighty Mouse' did to you, I'mma put you down." [7:21 - 7:41]

It will be interesting to see whether Cejudo can regain the bantamweight championship after a three-year layoff or if Sterling has evolved beyond the former champion's reach.

Aljamain Sterling will look to make his third successful bantamweight title defense when he takes on the returning Henry Cejudo at UFC 288.

During the aforementioned appearance on DC & RC, 'FunkMaster' spoke about being overlooked his entire career and that he intends to defeat 'Triple C' to keep on silencing his doubters and continue cementing his legacy in the sport.

He said:

"We're gonna find out who is who and people doubt me my entire career and I keep showing them who I am and what I'm made of and I work hard, and I earned this spot. And that's all I could do is go out there and prove this man wrong once again." [11:24 - 11:36]

The reigning bantamweight champion has successfully retained his title against Petr Yan and T.J. Dillashaw, and will look to add Cejudo to that list.
