Austin Reaves: Who did Jake Paul claim the rising Los Angeles Lakers star reminded him of?
Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer and popular social media personality, has heaped praise on rising Los Angeles Lakers star Austin Reaves following his impressive performance in the Lakers' 122-111 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night.
Reaves was promoted to the starting lineup for the first time since January and responded with a stellar 25-point, 11-assist performance, earning his first double-double of the season. This came just three days after he scored a career-high 35 points against the Orlando Magic.
The 24-year-old shooting guard's heroics on Wednesday helped end the Lakers' nine-game losing streak against the Suns, with Reaves receiving MVP chants from the Lakers faithful at the end of the game.
Paul took to Twitter to express his admiration for Reaves, comparing him to former NBA sensation Jeremy Lin, who made a name for himself with the New York Knicks in 2012.
"Austin Reaves right now reminds me of 2012 Jeremy Lin. Took over the league."

Reaves, who went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, has been making waves in the league with his impressive performances, with many now hailing him as a potential star for the Lakers in the future.
Jake Paul agrees to KSI's boxing match terms with added conditions for 'Winner Takes All Prize'
Jake Paul has accepted KSI's terms for a potential boxing match, but with his own set of conditions. The feud between the two YouTubers started when KSI claimed he would become the pound-for-pound best YouTuber-turned-boxer after his upcoming fight against Joe Fournier.
Paul responded by questioning the credibility of KSI's claim and also criticizing Fournier's fighting record.
"Hahaha. I’m your idol. So when you beat a guy whose last pro fight was over two years ago against a reggaeton singer that had never boxed in his life, you are the pound for pound best?! Or is because his fight before that was 6 years ago against a 1-11 “boxer”? Sham."
In response, KSI accused Paul of avoiding a fight with him, leading to 'The Problem Child' accepting KSI's condition of a 180-pound weight limit and a rehydration clause. However, Paul added his own stipulation that the winner of the match would be rewarded $30 million and the loser would go home empty-handed.
Referring to KSI's recent £10M bet, Paul said:
"$30M to the winner, 0 to the loser if you want me to agree to your request of 180 pounds and rehydration clause. Agree with that and I’m in. You just supposedly bet £10M so this should be easy to contract right?"
KSI is set to face Joe Fournier on May 13 at the OVO Arena in London, and if he emerges victorious, a potential match against Jake Paul could be next.
The ongoing rivalry between the two YouTube sensations has been a source of entertainment for their fans, and a match between them would surely draw a huge audience. With both parties now seemingly on board, fans will have to wait and see if a fight between the two will materialize.
