Australian lightweight calls out Paddy Pimblett following big win at UFC 284

Since his arrival in the UFC, Paddy Pimblett has been the name on everybody's lips, and UFC 284 has been no different with rising lightweight Jamie Mullarkey taking his moment to call for a fight against the controversial scouser.

The Australian extended his winning run to two on Saturday with a decision win over the previously undefeated Francisco Prado, moving him closer to getting a number next to his name in the weight class. Winning four of his past five in the promotion, the 28-year-old is showing promise in the sport's most stacked division.

Following his win at UFC 284, Jamie Mullarkey attended the post-fight press conference where he continued his barrage on Paddy Pimblett as he desperately angles for the matchup:

"I think it's a good fight and I think it's a high possibility that fight could happen. I've got my Irish heritage, The Hooligan vs. The Baddy. Don't tell me that's not an exciting fight. Put that on a card and that's gonna wreak havoc... I thought he lost his last fight, honestly. But he comes to fight, that's why I say The Hooligan vs. The Baddy would be a sick fight because we both come, we bring it... I see holes in his game, I'm sure he sees holes in mine and we'd put on a f***ing show, I know we would... I see that chin up in the air every single fight and just lick my lips."

With wins over veteran Michael Johnson, rising talent Devonte Smith, and the aforementioned Francisco Prado, Jamie Mullarkey is arguably on the right path to earning a big fight against 'The Baddy'.

What's next for Paddy Pimblett?

Paddy Pimblett stirred up controversy the last time he appeared in the octagon after narrowly earning a victory against Jared Gordon in a bout many believed he had lost.

The win extended the Liverpudlian's record to 4-0 in the UFC, and with his star power rising each time he's on display, it won't be long until the lightweight is competing against the top 15 in his division.

Although his return is greatly anticipated, Pimblett will be out of action for some time and will miss the huge UFC 286 card in London later this year as he has to undergo ankle surgery in March.
