Marcos Galvao def. Joe Warren via submission (verbal) (R2, :45)
In a rematch to their 2011 fight at Bellator 41, champion Joe Warren lost to challenger Marcos Galvao in his first bantamweight title defense. This fight might well be more controversial than their first fight. In their last fight, many feel that Galvao was robbed by the judges and this time Warren don’t agree with the refs call.
After a strong first round, Warren entered the second round ahead on the judges' scorecards but it was Galvao who attacked quickly & secured a tight leg lock, as Galvao torqued Warren's knee, Warren let out a scream that referee John McCarthy deemed a verbal submission. Warren disagreed & Protested but Fight was declared over & Galvao was named the new champion.
L.C. Davis def. Hideo Tokoro via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
In the co-main event, a fight that was Promoted as a potential title eliminator at 135 pounds between LC Davis and Hideo Tokoro stole the show. Davis and Tokoro went to war for 3 rounds In a back and forth fight where the tables were turning throughout, Tokoro showed off his unorthodox submission skills but was ultimately outscored by Davis, who utilized good striking and superior wrestling which earned him the judges' decision. This certainly was the best bellator fight of this year.
Francis Carmont def. Guilherme Viana via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
UFC veteran Francis Carmont entered this fight as a huge favorite n his Bellator debut against Guilherme Viana and while he deserved victory, this fight wasn't easy for the Frenchman. While Carmont controlled the majority of the fight on the feet and came close to scoring the finish with barrage of punches in the 2nd round which started with big overhand right, but Carmont opted to change levels and take Viana to the canvas, where he recovered enough to survive.
Carmont managed to lose the 3rd round where Viana took Carmont's back early and attacked relentlessly, constantly looking for the RNC, but overall Carmont was able to do enough to win the decision.
Ryan Couture def. Dakota Cochrane via submission (rear naked choke) (R1, 3:23)
In the first fight of the main card, Ryan Couture implemented his traditional plan perfectly & submitted MMA veteran Dakota Cochrane. Couture came in fast and pressed Cochrane against the cage and while Cochrane briefly managed to take Couture down, Couture recovered, took Cochrane's back and submit him with ease.
