Bellator Newcastle Results: Big upset as favorite suffers first loss in 10 fights
Bellator kicked off their European series with an explosive card that came straight from the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle. The event was headlined by the Bellator debut of Ryan Scope who took on Patricky 'Pitbull' Freire in the main event.
That wasn't the only anticipated fight of the evening as Aaron Chalmers went up against Corey Browning in the co-main event of the evening looking to extend his winning streak to two fights.

#1 Fabian Edwards vs. Lee Chadwick (Middleweight)
Edwards came into the fight with a spotless 5-0 record while his competitor Chadwick was a seasoned fighter with a 24-13-1 record. The fight kicked off after both made their way to the cage, with Edwards sporting blue gloves and black trunks and Chadwick coming out in black trunks himself.
Round 1: Edwards controlled the fight from the get-go as he positioned himself in the center of the cage. Chadwick and Edwards clinched into the fence for a minute before breaking free.
Edwards then landed a series of kicks that stunned Chadwick. The first of those, a left kick to the head rattled Chadwick and Edwards scored a takedown at the end of the sequence. Edwards got right back up at 3 minutes into the round and peppered Chadwick's legs with kicks as he laid on his back. Edwards ended the round with a few knees to Chadwick's body.

Round 2: Chadwick came out all guns blazing as he took Edwards down to begin the round. Edwards, though, answered with some nasty elbows, forcing Chadwick to get the fight back on the feet. Edwards pressured Chadwick into the cage as both men wrestled for position. Edwards seemed like he looked to set up another leg kick by inviting Chadwick to come forward. Edwards got in more volume of strikes in the second round as he tagged Chadwick with rights and some stiff lefts. Chadwick shot for a takedown at the end of the round, but Edwards defended well and ended the round with a short left.

Round 3: Edwards continued the good work in the final round as with a left followed by a head kick and a right hook. Edwards had to deal with another round of cage pressing attempts by Chadwick, who attempted a takedown but was unsuccessful as Edwards used the underhooks to good effect. Edwards tipped the scale as he landed a knee and took down Chadwick and got his back for an attempted body triangle. Edwards continued to land strikes to the head and body as he also looked to set up the rear-naked choke. The round came to an end with Edwards' ground dominance.

Result: Fabian Edwards def. Lee Chadwick via Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27)
Edwards thoroughly outclassed Chadwick in the longest fight of his career and extended his undefeated record to six wins on the trot.
