Beneil Dariush jokingly urges Elon Musk to "buy" US federal government and fire some people after Government Accountability Office reveals spending of $281 billion in improper and mistaken payments
Beneil Dariush has once again name-dropped Elon Musk and encouraged the inventor to buy the US federal government.
Dariush tweeted a screenshot of a New York Post article, which exposed the US government. According to the article, the government had racked up $281 million in 'improper and mistaken payments' in 2021.
The shocking news prompted the perennial lightweight contender to release a tweet which urged Musk to buy the US government the same way as Twitter. Musk recently acquired the popular social media company and immediately fired all top executives. Beneil Dariush suggested in his tweet that Musk fire 90-95% of government officials:
"Hey @elonmusk can you buy the federal gov, and lay off a few people? I think 90-95% will do. I know it's going to be expensive but I'm sure the fed will give you a loan."

In 2021 Beneil Dariush called out Elon Musk after he defeated Tony Ferguson at UFC 262. According to the UFC lightweight, he had been waiting for a Tesla car he had ordered for over 6 months, which inspired him to call out Musk.
Beneil Dariush paid tribute to Frankie Edgar and called him 'his favorite fighter outside his team'
Beneil Dariush recently paid tribute to bonafide UFC legend Frankie Edgar. 'The Answer' fought for the final time in his career at UFC 281 last weekend and was knocked out by Chris Gutierrez.
As a former UFC lightweight champion who finished his career at bantamweight, Edgar was a fan-favorite due to his ability to punch above his weight. 'The Answer' defended his 155 lbs. title three times, and will go down as a first-ballot UFC Hall of Famer. Following his defeat to Gutierrez, Beneil Dariush took to Twitter to show his appreciation for Edgar:
"Outside of my team Frankie Edgar is my favorite fighter. I’m remember Ali asked me to grapple with Frankie when he was in LA. I was genuinely star struck. Thank you for inspiring me and many others like me. God bless you and your family. @FrankieEdgar"

Frankie Edgar no doubt inspired the current crop of MMA contenders, having fought in the UFC for 15 years. Dariush was one of many who paid tribute to 'The Answer' once the curtain closed on Edgar's career.
