The 30-year-old comes into her UFC debut with a 7-2 MMA record. Meanwhile, the bout will be Perez's second in the octagon as she looks to bounce back from her submission loss to Stephanie Egger.

Prior to the submission loss to Egger, Perez was riding a two-fight winning streak while competing in Samurai Fight House.

Hailey Cowan was among 5 fighters who earned a UFC contract on Week 4 of Dana White's Contender Series.

Despite not being too thrilled with her performance, White praised Cowan following her win and said he believed she has the 'it factor' that could make her a big star in the promotion.

During her post-fight press conference after earning a UFC contract, she described her emotions when White announced she had earned a contract:

"When good things are about to happen to you, I feel like sometimes you just kind of know. And so as nervous as I was, I did have a deep deep feeling that my life was about to change. So as excited as I was, I wasn't super surprised that he (Dana White) ended up flipping the little attitude that gave us at the beginning."
