Dana White called a 'manipulator' by Francis Ngannou after Jake Paul brings up clip of UFC bossman telling Jon Jones to move to middleweight
Francis Ngannou recently added another chapter to his feud with Dana White by labeling him a "manipulator". 'The Predator's' accusations came after a recent tweet from Jake Paul also fired a shot at the UFC CEO.
Ngannou has been in a heated war of words with Dana White since he departed from the UFC. The Cameroonian has also talked about the UFC's unethical tactics to prevent their fighters from becoming free agents on several occasions.
In return, White propagated a narrative where he said that Ngannou left the UFC because he didn't want to fight Jon Jones. However, Paul's tweet showcased that White had a different opinion about the Jones vs. Ngannou fight three years earlier.
It displayed a section of White's interview after Ngannou's last UFC fight at UFC 270. In it, a reporter mentioned that Jon Jones had tweeted about looking forward to a fight against Ngannou (the UFC heavyweight champ back then). But White replied he would rather like to watch Jones move to middleweight instead of fighting Ngannou at heavyweight.
Ngannou retweeted Paul's tweet to highlight how White had changed his narrative now to suit his cause. The caption to it accused him of manipulating narratives instead of putting things out as they are.
"Divert attention to the real matter by manipulating the narrative. Lol"
Dana White had once thought about cutting Francis Ngannou off the UFC roster
Dana White received a question about Francis Ngannou during his recent Power Slap press conference on Oct. 24. He nswered it by doubling down on his narrative of the UFC having the potential to provide Ngannou with more money than whatever he was earning today.
However, he also fired a shot at the current PFL champ by reminding him how he once was on a terrible run in the UFC. The 55-year-old mentioned that he would have cut Ngannou from the UFC roster after he lost two fights in a row in 2018, but it was someone's "begging" that made him change his decision.
"I was going to cut Francis when he lost two in a row. I was going to cut him. Somebody around here begged me not to do it."
