Drew Dober called out for avoiding surging lightweight contender
Drew Dober is scheduled to face Matt Frevola at UFC 288 in May, but surging lightweight contender Jalin Turner believes that Dober is avoiding a fight with 'The Tarantula'.
Turner has called for a fight with Dober on previous occasions, and appears eager to face the No.14-ranked lightweight despite being ranked at No.10.
'The Tarantula' claimed that the reason Dober took a fight against Frevola was because 'The Steamrolla' was the last man to defeat Turner prior to his fight with Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 285 in March.
Jalin Turner appeared on episode #230 of the TimboSugarShow with MMA coach Tim Welch and UFC bantamweight contender Sean O'Malley, and said this about Drew Dober:
"I think Drew wants to try and beat the only person that's beaten me recently, so that he can say that he f***ing beat somebody that beat me. Because he is not trying to fight me. I asked for the fight, I wanted to fight him instead of Gamrot. But [Dober] said he needed more time. You call me out and then you need more time?"

Turner's feelings may come as a surprise to fans of Drew Dober, who will remember Dober calling out 'The Tarantula' after beating Bobby Green last year.
He said this:
"There's a guy in the top 10 right now, his name's Jalin Turner, a six foot three monster. I would love those problems so please say yes."

Drew Dober previews his upcoming matchup with Matt Frevola
Drew Dober is set to take on Matt Frevola at UFC 288 in May, and the lightweight contender believes the stage is set for a big performance.
Dober believes that his style matches up well with Frevola's, and forsees another performance bonus heading his way. His last two bouts have been awarded the Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night respectively, and Dober plans on making it three in a row at UFC 288.
Frevola is on a two-fight win streak, with both victories coming via TKO/KO. Dober's last three fights have all resulted in a TKO-stoppage in his favor, meaning that the crowd at UFC 288 should see hands fly when the lightweights do battle.
Drew Dober was recently interviewed by The Schmo and he said this:
"His [Frevola] backyard against a power puncher in front of an audience again?! This is picture-perfect. I absolutely love, and I'm not chasing bonuses but I seem to be gathering them... the fight's gonna be a banger."
